24/7 Outlook

Similar to CS. Rumored $25M pool for buyouts and salaries.
That's only a lot of money for Miami. Mel Tucker just signed a $95 million deal. Riley reportedly offered $96 mil by LSU. We're not in the same league, and we never will be. Not even f**king close. We're upgrading from a '96 Corolla to a '07 Camry.

LOL at possibly retaining Manny because they don’t want to make a move just to make a move.

How ‘bout making a move because the current head coach should never have been hired in the first place and has clearly demonstrated that he is incapable of getting the job done?

Is that making a move just to make a move?

Total insanity.
It's not so much why you made the move as did you make the right one? I imagine the idea of waiting is to be sure to get it right.

It’s good to have you back! FY21 has not been posted yet from what I can find. But it looks like UHealth pulled in a net profit of about $180M in Fy20, $280M in FY19, $240M in Fy18 from Part III of the 990. It is pulling in a lot of money. Without seeing the FY21 breakout, I would bet the numbers are going to be VERY strong.

If you compare UHealth’s net income to the university’s consolidated net income, it is just about all of the bottom line profit. It is a HUGE deal if they follow through with this.
Here you go

I mean...in all fairness...UHealth has finally outgrown its initial (over)payment price and is starting to make Scrooge McDuck money.

It's not couch-cushion money, but if we can hire a UM President who is even more football-friendly (and knowledgeable) than Julio, we might just have a newfound advantage.

How many other P5 programs literally own the largest health system in the largest urban area in the 3rd largest state in the country? It's a license to print money.

But, yeah, some people are still going to bash Shalala, no matter what logic and facts are presented.
Everything I've read suggests this is BOT guys fronting the money.

Maybe UHealth is helping somewhat, but it's a few m/billionaires who have just had enough and want this stuff run properly.

I would not feel comfortable giving a guy that's 16-13 in College a 10 year, $95m deal. That's just insane.

Here guy go

Thank you for sending. From these, it looks like their net revenue from the hospital was about $600m for the year. Page 36 has health care operating expenses of $1.964bn and patient care revenue on page 4 was about $2.563bn. This is pretty high level and there are likely some financing or other non operating expenses as well, but UHealth made a LOT of money last year. I’d expect one more year of similar and then things going back to pre-Covid years, which is still a lot of scratch.

I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering: "24/7 Outlook" means exactly what. I don't see an article such as the one that provided these excerpts, at the 247 site (of course i'm not subscribed.)

The thrust of the article suggests more than inside info and tips... it implies Alonzo is already hired in sime high UM FB role. I'm not doubting any of the contents this thread is commenting on, but would like to know more about the source, and how reliable or official, etc. Please and thanks.

They are 100% firing manny. They have to play politics/ maintain optics and make it seem like keeping him is an option because what else are they going to say? “Yes we will fire him no matter what”? No way.

If he loses out or fails to make a bowl , he will be fired

If he wins out and wins a bowl , they will have “mutually parted ways”
I find it absurd that this has to be explained to some

The fact that Manny still has support from some members of the BOT shows how political the position has become, and it's complete BS.

Can his ***.

It also shows the BOT continues to operate somewhere between the intersection of apathy and incompetence.

Root for losses people. We can't leave any room for any sort of mini winning streak down the stretch that might cause these retards to do something stupid. They simply can't be trusted. Let's go VTech and Duke.

What's insane is that people always quote records and forget to mention how he got those numbers. What if you went 1-11, 7-5, 11-1? That makes you 19-17 which sounds real sh*ty, but if you look closer, that looks like a huge turnaround.

This better be some bull****. I'm hoping they've had a firm for a long time and have been actively searching for an AD. If not, they're even bigger morons than i thought.
Morons for not paying a firm for months of work on the off chance they fire their AD? For whatever reason, his bosses had a lot more faith in bj than CIS did, so they probably weren't thinking about firing him months ago. And what if they had hired somebody after MSU and things had turned around?

Miami being Miami.

We need time to figure out which search firm to hire.

The fact that this determination cannot be made in under five minutes is an insight into what a disorganized "failure to plan for failure" system that Miami has been operating under. No budget for buyouts. No budget for payouts. Just lurching along from one crisis to another.

I don’t know how Corey Flagg blasting Manny and Co about not being surprised if all their penalties because how they practice doesn’t guarantee Manny is done…. With the cherry being recruiting sucking

They knew he was gone weeks ago, they should have started looking for an AD weeks ago. I can't explain it any simpler than that.
