24/7 Outlook

So you’re telling me the BOT hired a President that didn’t know football mattered to the Universities bottom line and marketing ability? Just burn the entire place down.
You speak as though this is surprising information.

How is possible Frenk could not have understood that before?

Look, I want to be fair to Frenk in this (belated) moment that he is actually doing the right thing...but, yes, he did not have the proper training or context when he took the job, and it took him SIX LONG YEARS to figure out that he was at UM, not Harvard.

I realize Frenk is not, literally, a stupid person, but he is fairly arrogant and short-sighted. And let's not mince words, the "actions" helping the Athletic Department were just "delegated" to two of his staff about a month ago. So you'll forgive me if I'm not going to start slapping Frenk on the back and congratulating him on a job well done.

They are 100% firing manny. They have to play politics/ maintain optics and make it seem like keeping him is an option because what else are they going to say? “Yes we will fire him no matter what”? No way.

If he loses out or fails to make a bowl , he will be fired

If he wins out and wins a bowl , they will have “mutually parted ways”
Agree completely, but it shouldn't have been in the article. Manny getting fired is a foregone conclusion if any of the previously stated goals are to be achieved.

Diaz possibly returning in 2022 has been mentioned in just about every podcast & article.

Someone wants that info out there. Why & what is the benefit? Fvk that!!!

Having Diaz come back is a no starter for me under any circumstance. If Mario says no, he’s not going to say yes next year. If he doesn’t come this year, he’s not coming here, period.

So move on and get the next best candidate. Don’t be afraid to take chances on some candidates with a checkered past (Kiffin or Freeze).

But in the end, you have to make Mario say yes no matter what it takes. All the chips have to be pushed in.

Let’s go!!
A new AD is not going to hitch himself to a coach that he knows is a dead man walking and has little to no support from the fan base , alumni and even many inside the progrum. Zero chance manny is back next season.

Remember when Miami was “broke” & “couldn’t afford it”??

Lol... We never have money for anything, now all of sudden we just found $25million just laying under the couch.

It just goes to show, that the people in charge have always had plenty of cash to fix the problem, they just never gave a sh*t, but now because one of their Aseres is available they’re willing to fork up the money smh.

Nothing worse than being greedy & willfully incompetent.

Miami being Miami.

We need time to figure out which search firm to hire.

The fact that this determination cannot be made in under five minutes is an insight into what a disorganized "failure to plan for failure" system that Miami has been operating under. No budget for buyouts. No budget for payouts. Just lurching along from one crisis to another.

Under which coach? Manny? No wonder he wouldn’t just resign. Smh.

So, did the process start a month ago, or not?

It did. But mostly on "known candidates". Seems like some (now) may be favoring expanding the pool. Which is fine.

But we have too many fans who think that everything is black or white. The question of "did the process start a month ago or not" is not impacted by whether we decide, today, to hire a search firm. Both things can be true.

Blake should have been let go earlier. Now we are in a situation where we don't have an AD & hiring a coach without the next AD's input would likely severely limit your candidate pool.

Pair that with Mario likely playing into January, and our timing sucks.

I want Manny gone as much as the next guy, but at this point, what is one more year IF the administration is true to their word about spending money and doing it right? The class is already fvcked anyways.

Plus, there are a LOT of schools that are going to be looking for coaches this offseason. The price of the brick is going up, as evidenced by the Mel Tucker extension - good coaches are going to cost a lot and create bidding wars. I don't trust this administration in a bidding war against the LSU's of the world.

All I saying is, if it happens, hopefully waiting so long to fire Blake is the last ****up this administration makes before the athletic department is overhauled and competent people are installed.

I need one of those couches…

Can't you just see it, Strawley hired as AD and Diaz given another year

We may not win on the field, but how 'bout that diversity, huh

Wait, what??!?? There was no plan in place & now doing a search firm?

This has to be a a stall tactic
I think it’s all smoke and mirrors.
But if it’s not then holy sht are we fcked. They did all that behind the scenes moves allegedly and not have anything in place?
I think it’s just like when they have to actually post a job before they can fill it type of thing.
They don’t want to act like the new ad was hired the same way the old aD hired Manny.

Agreed but it was mentioned that the likelihood is they announce a hire within a month.

Doesn't seem plausible for that to happen if a search firm is just getting hired but I don’t know shi* and don’t know how this stuff really works.
