I don't ever remember Eduardo Clements getting stopped behind the LOS. He always seemed to fall forward for decent yardage. He was a pretty decent back IMO.

Clements had two massive carries in the 4th quarter against UNC in 2013 when The Duke got hurt early and Crawford had the game of his life.
 
Tons of guys on that matrix that came in with hype and fizzled out. Some of their own doing, some injuries, some were just overhyped.

I remember thinking TreVonte Citizen, Lorenzo Lingard, Shawnbrey McNeal, Robert Burns, and Lee Chambers could all be dudes for us. None of them really ever found any kind of traction at Miami.

There are cool stories about guys who were undervalued being good players at RB for us like Mike James, Gus Edwards, Eduardo Clements - ****, even Homer/Dallas were ranked behind Lingard/Harris, but ended up better players as Canes (and in the pros).

One name not on here that deserves some flowers as a RB for his performance at UNC alone back in 2013 is Dallas Crawford. Will never forget his performance in that game - gutsy and tough.

Dawggggg, This is CRAZYYY.. Got soo much push back calling these guys out, especially Parrish, so weird when you say hey this isnt a miami level back, if we want to win games we need better talent.. Thad was DOA since that high school game against Bishop Verot, he was playing against Malik Curtis and streamed here and he had a carry and I was like oh **** nah.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3: :nba-kobe-bryant-upset:
 
This was our strongest position in the wilderness years, imo. And we basically had an NFL back on our roster, usually more than one, every year from Coker’s time until the pandemic.

2020, 2021, and 2022 were the worst times. Once we got fletcher, things started trending up rapidly.

Broward/Dade have also not been putting out RBs in the 20s like they used to beforehand. The early and mid 10s were loaded

Again — back to recruiting rankings and the importance of the individual, culture, etc. In 2016 and 2017, we have 3 NFL players in our running backs room.

Come 2018, we land our first five star since Duke, and yet the room quickly plummets into flames once Deejay and Homer leave.

I agree. I used to call Parrish "a really good RB trapped in an unathletic body"

And that's when I thought Parrish was 190/4.6 not 180/4.7

Parrish did the best he could with the tools he had.

The 2020 class Chaney vs Knighton vs Parrish "who's better" arguments fell far short of expectations.

I remember reveling in that era and saying it while going to games and seeing those guys live.. We really had Lamar Miller, Duke, Alex Collins, Dalvin/Yearby, Jordan Scarlett.. What a time.. Same thing I used to tell Heat fans with Lebron in his prime, ENJOY this moment because you might not ever see it again, to get the best player to play for YOUR home team and not take for granted.. Incredible..

4 highly rated guys, 3 of whom had major injuries here! They had multiple injuries at that (our training table was known for repeat injuries). Knighton had fumbling issues so we let him walk. But the other 3 you can’t call them that! BTW, we had at least 1 blue chip player at RB each year! CRAZY!
