20m in new funds

No. The funds we receive for the CFP aren't allowed to be used for NIL.

However, they can be used towards things that we would typically have to fundraise for. Now we can use that fundraise for NIL (I think)
I have seen other people say this, but do you have a source that says we cannot use the CFP success monies to fund our revenue share NIL contracts? I haven't been able to find one.

It does not go into the rev share NIL pool. Every ACC team gets the same amount annually for this pool of money (20.5 mil this year). Its a baseline level of fairness for all of the teams in the conference, then there are the individual sponsorship deals, collectives, etc on top of that.

So just because it doesn't go into the Rev Share pool of money, doesn't mean there aren't other ways to spend it on NIL.

Thanks. Is the reason it doesn't go into the rev share NIL pool because:

It's not considered "media rights" (obviously isn't ticket sales or sponsorships)? Screenshot from the CSC website. Even if we can't spend it directly on RevShare contracts, the CFP money goes to the Athletic Department and as @TomAce said money is fungible.

Can they use it for retaining staff like the DC? Or JT? Maybe additional scouting, self scouting, recruiting evals, big name former coaches as analysts… I’m sure it’ll go towards good use. And hopefully the exposure and excitement gets more NIL funds from big time donors that are seeing positive results on money spent.

Lastly it’ll fire up excitement and bring in new fans. More eyeballs, more revenue on sales and hopefully more butts in seats in the future. Nothing but positives.

Awesome time to be a Cane
