2029 Men's Basketball Recruiting

Josiah Brooks, SG, SLAM (2029)

Another impressive 2029 was Josiah Brooks, a 6-foot-2 combo guard from Miami (Fla.) SLAM. Brooks is a strong, physical scorer with a relentless attacking mentality and an advanced skill set for his age.

The southpaw put the team on his back, attacking any matchup or double team. He knocked down shots off the catch and pull from three, attacked the rim, and competed at a high level all game.

Interesting no miami mention (or maybe they are mentioned behind the paywall).

Iowa legacy so looks like we aren’t done battling them just quite yet. Reggie grew up in Pensacola so there is a chance RJ stays in-state.

I wanna reiterate that Coach Lucas called him the best player in the country which is remarkable in and of itself for us to get such direct confirmation of who we’re after. He is our #1 target with Cayden Gaskins being 1B.

RJ Evans will be a tuff get. In addition to being an Iowa legacy, UNC’s Mike Malone coached his dad on the Kings. I’d put my money on UNC winning out when the time comes.

i think 2029 may end up being our biggest HS class compared to what we took in these last two years (putting aside the late project take adds); even with 5 for 5 changing the dynamics whereby a guy like Dante Allen could spend 5 seasons with us.

Im sure they have their eyes on Brayden Wise on the back burner with UGA having the upper-hand however with the portal you never know, maybe Justin ends up at Miami and Brayden is playing alongside him down the road. Not sure how JL3 has in that 2029 class however i know the FL classes for 2029, 2030, and 2031 are really good

Draydne McDaniel was Cayden’s teammate at Calvary Christian before transferring to prolific.
