2027 Roster Discussion

Bottom line is this is not a premier destination anymore and hasn’t been for a while. That will not change until JD and this staff are gone and the correct hire is made. We can compare player projections and hope all we want. Anyone who argues the recent rosters and the one projected for 27’ are comparable to the top 10-15 programs in the country are fooling themselves. We’re not even close and that’s the reality. Florida has been lightyears ahead of us for a while and FSU has ran past us as well. Speculate all you want, the head to head and overall results speak for themselves.

Injury mismanagement, lack of arm talent, lack of overall quality roster depth, and a lack of development are on the skipper.

Reminds me of the Al Golden/Manny Diaz years of misplaced optimism and hope while failing to recognize just how far from elite we are.

Bring in a manager who is just ok at the job and this will be a premier destination once again. JD was bad as a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator and even worse as a manager.

Agree.

We’re teetering on the edge of a top 25 roster year after year. It’s completely unacceptable.

The talent level is better than that, probably in the 15-20 range. Still unacceptable but it’s very poorly developed and utilized. An average manager possibly gets this team to Omaha like Troy.

The MLB draft says differently. We aren't a talented roster most years. The lack of arms is glaring and the depth of the lineup is fairly shallow.
It feels to me like we are overrating our roster most years.
 
That team was a top 25 team all or most of the year in spite of awful fundamentals. It's hard to be that awful running the bases and fielding and still have series wins against some pretty solid teams and be a top 25 ranked team without some talent.

Wrong- it was ranked Top 25 in the first 3 coaches polls and for the next 13 polls it wasn’t ranked at all.

Played against the 155th ranked OOC schedule to go along with the 54th SOS overall along with the 34th ranked RPI

Haven't a lot of them usually signed as UDFAs by this time if they are interested in continuing their baseball careers?
