2027 RHP Isaac Vidal commits to Miami

Statement recruiting win for JD and the staff. He had every offer. He is someone I highlight as a must get player, and he was my #1 overall target. It’s a huge win!!!!!

Why are you on the confident side that he would make it to campus being top miami-dade kid? Just curious

Between the 4 kids I had as top targets for us. He was the one I have the best feeling about making it to campus. I’m confident he makes it to Miami. If he was a LHP it would be a different story

He’s also the lowest nationally ranked of the four. The other three are top25-50 type of Guys who will have a good chance to go pro
 
Vidal I can see some school that is serious about baseball offered him $750k-$1mil.. and/or might not matter as he's trending to not making it on campus..

Evan Paul, not sure..

Is there something going on inside the program?? is baseball finally open season on committed kids to out bid on???
 
The departure of Paul may also have something to do with the commitment of Evan Alexander. Both players are listed as C/1B. With Alvarez being the obvious starter behind the plate and the addition of Dylan Mulcahy who is projected to play first base things at first and catcher are getting crowded.

maybe but they are a year apart
 
I’m sure there is a possibility that money may have something to do with it but playing time is also a big part of the decision for these players also and the more crowded the different positions get makes playing time harder to get. My only hope is that he does not become a Gator or Seminole.

I have heard Auburn. I have heard from people close to him that he will likely never play college baseball. I have a good idea of what has happened to Evan Paul and why he was dropped. It will take me a while to get the real info on Vidal

Also, you are not a fan of Evan Alexander? I've never seen him play personally. Prep Baseball ranked him as a top-50 player around April-June, which is when he came on my radar as someone we could take at catcher. I believe he has dropped to around the 150-250 range. (I do not have a subscription)

I still think we're the favorites for Xavier Rodriguez, and I don't think taking Alexander stops us from pursuing him.

I need to see how he has developed this year. I saw him last year and he looked good. He’s obviously a D1 catcher. I could also be mixing him up with his teammate, Boyer, who’s also a catcher.

Hitting isn’t everything for a catcher as receiving & handling pitchers are the most important thing, but he’s a decent hitter but not much pop, especially since they play on a small field. 0 homers. But a lot of good pitchers have gone through True North.

Rankings aren’t everything but one service does not rate him as a top 10 catcher in Florida but they have Boyer there.

I am going to reach out to some people that really know catching and get their opinion.

I’ve seen 3-8. Aside from Boyer, total studs.
