2026 Roster (Running Updates)

Added Marcus Allen.
Up to 8 on Roster now.
7 Spots left, though Idk if we fill them all.... I imagine we got to get a couple developmental guys with 2-3 yrs of elgibility, and another couple HS guys.
 
Okay so who do we have the most realistic chance to land as of today? We have 8 and I’m expecting we will probably snag 3 more maybe 4?

I love the idea of investing in defensive minded players. Defense is mentality & Physicality (both of which are difficult to coach up, especially in todays CBB) imo offense is significantly easier to perfect and defense travels way better then offense does.

IMO we seem like a team that will try and beat down a team physically over the course of a game and impose a little more old school Bball style offensively (driving to the hoop, drawing fouls, Mid ranges etc) + the occasional 3 while emphasizing a tough & FYZICAL defense.

From a selfish POV, I don't want us to turn into Tony Bennett UVA "pack line D"-South. That's a horrific style of basketball to watch...just ugh. Not a fan. But it can obviously be successful. I like having a defensive mentality and being tougher than the other team though. Start with defense and rebounding, but we'll definitely need to blend in/develop some scorers.

I don't think we'll look like UVA at all. If anything, we might be a very poor man's version of this year's St. John's team.

No reason to think, Virginia's style of play is only successful measure to doing so defensively. Houston, Auburn, Tennessee, among others, are teams that have had great success in recent years, play great D but are also very entertaining teams to watch on the other end of the floor as well. I'll admit, I wasn't fond of hiring Jai so quickly back in February, but thus far he and his staff have done a solid job in bringing in talent. Now, I'm intrigued to see it translates to the court.
 
Anything is possible, but with the transfer portal pretty bare and top high school seniors committed, our roster seems to be set.

I think it'll play out like this for Game 1. Solid starting 5, but lots of question marks coming off the bench.

Good defensive squad, will keep games close and grind out some good wins probably.

The depth at Guard is scary imo tho.

I see an 18 win team.

Yea, but i can see Timo and Allen getting some time at the 4. Undersized but they wouldn't be detrimental there.

Dante Allen is basically our only backup guard (unless Khee or Laboy are actually contributors).

If one of Tre or Tru get hurt, its gonna be a long season.
