I mean there's going to be a year we don't just pluck whoever we want from the portal and is/was dangerously close to being this year. I like the portal model too for qbs but you also have to worry at some point that there's going to be changes to how things were done with players not being allowed to reneg on a contract.

I would like some effort into also recruiting HS QBs as well

Many slurpers are absolutely beside themselves that the mopes are enjoying winning... because for years when it was correct to be ****ed off, mopes were ****ed off -- like currently --- Adidas and the ACC can both go **** off... but winning is good -- that's why we didn't like not winning...

To the portal -- Out of options is a process problem for overall discussion -- and a VERY fair one. Mensah is a good get at the last hour, but if you have preferred QBs, that is also a fair chat.

I don't disagree with any of that…But your approach to this topic is different than dipshyt's.

Honestly working on the portal I hear/see how quickly other teams have things locked up. I feel like we can be a little more on the forefront and not make it “hard” as it needs to be.

He just loved playing with fire with QBs.

I think he worked with deliberate speed. Offered Sorsby early but he wanted to be with his gf. Leavitt was signed, sealed, delivered, and he played us. It happens. We weren't gonna overpay for a meh player. So we let it be known the $$ was out there to see what shook loose, and it appears a big fish has. I'm not sure what the better stratgey would have been. And I don't think we lost out on anyone from not moving fast enough. It was no secret the QB position was open and we had $$ to spend. It's just a weak year for transfer QBs
