I presume that contract can only be terminated via buyout money, otherwise, rev sharing wouldn't be a holdup.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a precalculated estimation of the rev share that Mensah was paid.

Your presumption is incorrect. Free country. You can terminate any agreement you want. Question is whether it makes business sense (efficient breach) and could result in an injunction (no) that would defeat the purpose.

I have to believe Mario will give Mensah a deadline to take the offer that comes hours before the portal closes so that he can quickly pivot to someone else if this falls through.

It would be wise to remain leery of the intentions of ***e here, a conference rival who undoubtably views us as their greatest obstacle to repeating as Conference Champion next year. They know that we are desperate for a qb at the 11th hour. What better way to mortally wound us then to have their star qb flirt with us so that we don’t focus on any other qb options, then pull the rug out from underneath us at the last second so that we’re left with nothing? Not saying that’s what’s happening here, just hope we’re prepared for all possibilities..
