Because they used him as a pure drop back passer and had him throwing like 40 times a game. Now, he put up good stats, but he's not a gunslinger like that. He's better as a play action/RPO situational passer with a good running game. Duke treated him like 1986 Dan Marino.

Pretty sure he was all state in basketball and I’m pretty sure he has consistently been used as the scout QB when we are facing an athletic QB since he’s arrived on campus.
