You are correct. If some kid asks to be in the portal, the school is going to use all weekend to fight/negotiate it it and if they're signed, simply refuse to do so. We're going to be doing this until next Wednesday and then watching our own team portal until the following Monday.

My personal opinion is that Bailey has told them no without telling them no.

He has reasons to feel disrespected by the coaching staff and the university because he was passed over multiple times.

There is no reason for him to be coming here given the circumstances.

I personally don't believe that Mendoza would look the same way if he came to Miami. The system/structure that Cignetti has fits him to a tee.
We saw him at Cal. No one watched that and thought he'd be the Heisman winner this year.

As you and many others have pointed out, staff passed multiple times. There is a reason.

I was impressed with Mendoza's performance against us at Cal in 2024 (as I'm sure many other Canes fans were). I admit I discounted it because he was up against our weak secondary and LBs.

Beck vs Mendoza in the Portal last year? I'd have been happy with either.
