I have zero idea who it is to be fair. The person cannot leak the name, but he’s as trustworthy as they come. Even if he did tell me the name, it’’s not my place to leak and pry. I’m just getting bits and pieces of info. I know more about who it isn’t than who it is.

The Simpson offer was legit by the way. In the ballpark of 6 mil, so we tried our **** hardest.

Logical reasoning - trends, not just this year but previous 2 cycles, comments from players (Simpson noted Miami coaches moving on to Leavitt after he said no), the fact they jacked the price WAY up for Simpson (hypothetically even if i don't believe the number entirely) which tells me they focused on him and only him and didn't want to pivot until he absolutely was no longer an option.....which aligned with the actions we saw with Cam and Beck.

Could i be wrong? Sure. But how many QBs visited and how many are still on the board right now? If Miami was actively working other guys in parallel, they might not have signed yet. That's not to say they didn't "inquire" but it's not like they identify 2-3 guys and say first one to accept gets it. I see the Simpson/Leavitt thing similar to Howard/Cam. It seemed like Miami liked both but didn't have a true acceptable offer out there for Howard until they heard from Cam....and Howard chose his best offer at that time. Is that how it went? No idea.....just the optics from this casual fan's seat.

Do you have a completely different idea of how the last 3 cycles went? I enjoy a good debate or theory to consider.

Thanks, good to hear offer was real and we’re not poor.

I just hope the staff has learned from the sorsby / Leavitt / Simpson misses. Spent time and resources on guys who seemed to not want to come here. (Sorsby Texas guy and pootang), Leavitt being retarded, and Simpson (NFL, SEC cuck)

knowing @WeBallinBoyz it's probably a G5 guy and we will all be mad until we look at his tape and he's 6-3 220 runs like McNabb and throws like Favre. he had 5K yards passing last year and 40 TDs but because he transitioned from being a woman, he flew under the radar. And all of CIS will be happy and defend the guy whenever our opposing fanbase says, "when he [the QB] is too hot to trot, he's still gotta squat". And then we will officially be back.

While the portal timeline is bull****, enrolling at UM by the 21st in order to be able to participate in Spring ball is not.

We keep playing with fire every year trying to lock up a portal QB so late in the process. While Beck missed Spring ball to an injury last year, I think we can all agree having a transfer QB miss Spring ball is not ideal. That also to will eventually bite you in the *** if that happens again.

This staff makes so many things more difficult than they need to. Every other top tier program locked up QB(s) with ease and relatively quick. ****, Indiana locked theres up 10 days ago. There is literally zero excuse for us to be in this position yet again.

I think the bolded part of this is a main part of our problem. I have ZERO doubt that we tried as hard as possible with Simpson, but it was also obvious to anyone that’s ever heard the kid talk about Bama/the SEC that he wasn’t coming here. I don’t know if we’re bad at reading the situation with certain players, if we’re just that confident we can convince kids, or what, but seems like we go all out for pie in the sky options without adequate backup options.
