2026 Portal QBs

We provided Cam ward with a better offensive line, but please list me all the things that Dawson make him Ward better at
Decision making. Playing within structure. Less volatility. His ball placement also improved at Miami. You don't just make the kind of jump he made because of a better offensive line. If that was the case Beck would have made a bigger jump this year.

Dawson can’t develop HS quarterbacks and he doesn’t make portal quarterbacks any better than he already are.

If Miami is ****-bent on keeping Dawson, then hire a dedicated QB coach who has a track record for developing quarterbacks
I agree a dedicated coach that works with the underclassmen would be beneficial. I feel like Dawson is more focused on nuances with the starter and playcalling duties.

I’m a fan of using the portal, but it would be nice to have a situation every few years where we could have a homegrown guy take the reins for 2 years. Or maybe grab a 5-star guy and setup a Chris Leak/Tim Tebow situation for a year.

we dug ourselves this hole (again): start trying to flip guys or reach deeper into G6/FCS land.

Anthony Colandrea
Deuce Knight
Ethan Grunkenmeyer
Longstreet
JC French
Aidan Chiles
Jaylen Rainor
Katin Houser
Jaden Craig
Ben Diniucci
Cole Payton
Taron ****ens
Caden Pinnick
Colandrea and Grunk are committed, don't know if they signed anything yet

I have no ideia if he's any good, never saw him play, but I was looking at some metrics earlier and Colandrea numbers are actually good. Mullen has a good sytem for QBs, but he may be a good option
EDIT: list with QBs that have eligibility left for 26

Kyle Whittingham was speaking on this with Bryce Underwood today…

During part of the interview, the pair discussed Underwood and what he needs to do to improve in 2025. That’s when Whittingham revealed an almost unfathomable piece of information.

“First of all, from what I understand, there was no dedicated quarterback coach working with him on a daily basis, which has to happen,” Whittingham said. “You’ve got a young man, 17 years old, he didn’t turn 18 ’til like midseason, and so he’s a guy who really could’ve been in high school last year as far as his age.”

From what I understand, the qbs all have their own qb coach they work with, but think we could benefit from additional resources in that area.
