2026 Portal QBs

Mario has repeatedly not done that here. Gattis and Dawson on offense. Steele, Guidry and Hetherman. None of whom were on previous staff with him.

Fair, poor wording on my part and, as you noted, Mario isn't stuck with his existing bro network when it comes to hiring coaches.
But this is a guy who worked with him and I suspect he may be on his radar should the need to hire an OC arises.

If we are going to do this, what's the consensus on Kotelnicki. He seems to have gotten to "cute" at Penn St, but was very good and explosive at previous stops.

Mr sellers sick of struggling with a bad oline.

JKS should really shut it down and go ahead and portal. Nobody on his team can catch, they can’t block, and pretty sure he just got concussed.

I am extremely doubtful that he’s going to the portal. He had committed to them, went somewhere else and then came back. He’s getting paid. He wanted to be there and the cow can’t pay for everybody. They’re going to pay for him.

Maybe he sticks around. Unless Cal is willing to give him a bag nobody else will though, it’d be a mistake. His supporting cast is truly awful, he’s going to wind up hurting his draft if he stays there for 3 years.

Who you thinking? Just curious

I think Hoover may be like the most seamless easy fit, and I do think he does have a decently high ceiling for us. So not at all saying I wouldn't want him. Just as of today, I'd probably have like 3-4 guys ahead. However I am pretty sure I've seen that he seems like a guy who wouldn't leave TCU, which is the other negative obviously. He just has a lot of negative plays especially this year. Wheras some guys that I think would be high potential ceilings (and maybe some lower floors as well) could also add run threat which in a way makes them possibly more consistent (like Leavitt/Sellers, and especially Demon Williams).

from that link a week or two ago I had it:
1 Year options:
1. Sorsby
2. Demond Williams
3. Darian Mensah
4. Becht / Leavitt / Lagway / Sellers (this was basically shoot for the ceiling and hope tier lol)
5. Hoover

2 Year options:
1. Malik Washington or JKS
3. Drew Mestemaker

Sorsby was the other name I’ve been saying as well but I imagine everybody is going to also offer him huge $!
