2026 Portal QBs

Here's an unlikely name: LaNorris Sellers.

ESPN posted a non-Kiper NFL draft ranking for QBs.

Height: 6-foot-3 | Weight: 240 pounds
Class: Redshirt sophomore | Projected range: Late Round 1-Early Day 2

Where he needs work: While Sellers is talented, he's still working through the nuances of seeing, reading and reacting to defenses as a passer. When is it all going to come together? It's the question that nearly all scouts I've talked to continue to ask, and they feel South Carolina's offense isn't boosting him.

"I like his skill set, but that offense just isn't helping him grow right now," an NFC director of scouting said."

A leaky offensive line hasn't done Sellers any favors. He has faced pressure on 42.5% of his dropbacks, the eighth most in the FBS. He has also been sacked on an FBS-high 12.4% of his dropbacks, and his 2.95-second average time to throw ranks 120th out of 138 quarterbacks.

A QB who needs to play in a better system, behind a better O-line? Sounds like a good match to me.

Not a lot of good draft eligible QBs this season, but there seem to be a lot of quality underclassmen. I think we’ll be fine for QB from the portal this time around. Way too scary rolling the dice with Ward and Beck.

Do we need a RB next year? This guy is a step above Anthony Richardson(and not by much) Unless Dawson leaves and we bring in a one read and run or a QB run happy offense he would not be a fit.

He’s DJ Uiagalelei!

Hard pass for the Canes

Sam Leavitt (AZ State - Sophomore)
Brendan Sorsby (Cincy - Junior)
Josh Hoover (TCU - Junior)
Demond Williams (U. Wash. - Sophomore)
Isaac Wilson (Utah - Sophomore)
Mensah(Duke - Sophomore)
Miava(uscw - Junior)
Mestemaker (UNT - freshman)
sagapolutele(Cal - freshman)
Fifita (Arizona- junior)
Angeli (cuse- junior)
Washington (Maryland- freshman)

If Luke isn’t starter material, I’d take two kids. The UNT kid would be my qb2. Likely less $$$, high ceiling. I’d go after the two Arizona kids for qb1 with leavitt as my first choice. I’d also go after Sorsby and Mensah.

CJ Bailey is better than at least 2/3 of your list. I am not saying he would be my #1. I like that kid from Washington. Let's see how he does the rest of the year.

What about the Pitt QB? I like him,

Hoover. If he says no, I would back up the brinks truck to Malik Washington at Maryland. He'd be a two year starter.

Demond Williams is intriguing if Fisch goes to UF and rolls with Lagway for reasons unknown. Maiava, if Longstreet is their QB next year would be cool too. If Mensah doesn't have 2+ turnovers and 3+ sacks against GTech next week I could be convinced.

Pretty sure Altmyer is a senior. He's played 3 years at Illinois, a redshirt year at Ole Miss and another year at Ole Miss that he played in at least four games.

Please remove Leavitt as he's garbage. Was also garbage in 2024. Jeez.
