Stating the obvious:
Currently, the only viable options in the portal are Husan Longstreet and Ethan Grunkemeyer, although Grunkemeyer is widely expected to enroll at VTech. Mario seems interested in neither. I guess Lagway is another viable option, but I threw up typing that.
The portal closes on Friday. We’ll know in the next 48 hours whether anyone else of interest enters.
Not much to discuss until and unless another QB enters the portal.

I'm really having a difficult time understanding how this has been bungled so badly. You apparently are able to offer $6.5m, you're playing for a national title, going to have plenty of weapons at WR, the OL is still going to be really good...
How the **** are we sitting here without a QB at the 11th hour? I've been holding out on pressing the panic button, but this is genuinely mind-boggling.

How? We have whiffed on everyone. The past two years we have gotten guys to forego the draft, this year's equivalent to that was Ty Simpson and that was a pretty emphatic no.

I don't think people realize how precarious our QB situation was right before we signed Cam. We literally had Reese as our backup option if Cam said no (which would have been at practically the last day of the winter portal).

I have been waiting on someone rumored to go in for a week. I have given up on this hope of enticing someone in. People are guessing on who has actually signed their deals, yet. We are in a worse situation than last year. Yes, I would take Longstreet at this point. I am willing to lose Emory and Nickel at this point. I am desperate enough to take Lagway. The draft dodging hopes of the last 2 years are gone today. This is worse. Programs are getting 2 QB"s.

These are the hs qb’s they are going after. When was the last time you saw them or heard about them going after a high level hs qb? Not sure if Mario is giving Dawson the freedom to pick his qb’s out of hs or what their thought process is on that. But it needs to be changed obviously.Something is wrong with us man. We are Miami, winning 13 games this year, playing in national championship, we pay NIL well to QBs, we offer the sunny beaches of South Florida, the best looking women anywhere in this country, a high performing Offensive Line, and Malachi Toney - and we cant entice a QB??? sheesh
and i understand why ... mc has been trashed about his coaching acumen from here to mars ... he has the chance to erase that narrative, i can't blame him for locking in on the sports highest achievement

Because they focus on 1 person and don't seem to consider multiple options in parallel.....so when that one target doesn't fall into place, the other options are gone. It worked twice and now failed once. High risk high reward, no different than gambling.
