2026 Men's Basketball Recruiting

You need a certain number of players just to hold practices. We're still short a few.

In this age of the almighty portal, a guy like this is a long shot to ever really play meaningful minutes. Gotta wonder about why he wouldn't sign with a lower level program where that would not be true.

He might trust the development of coach Jai and stick it out
 
It still feels like Kevin Thomas and Alex Constanza are a fit for Miami as Miami still needs a shooter along with someone who can create their own shot coming off the bench.

You have to because it is impossible to build through the transfer portal every year.
You can add 2 guys through the portal but there is not enough talent in the portal every year to overhaul your roster.
At this point, Miami is still better off signing Alex Constanza and Kevin Thomas compared to who is left in the portal.
Most of the guys still in the portal are looking for $1M+ and a starting role while Miami is looking to solidify the bench and add depth.
I trust Jai Lucas and the direction of the program but I prefer to be more like Duke where you add 1 or 2 transfers a year instead of Louisville, where you are overhauling the roster each year.

As soon as I hear something, I will let you know.
These are interesting times because after the transfer portal comes the European portal so who knows what happens to them.
I do know there aren't any high major schools with starting roles for a 2026 prep recruit.
I apologize, just one. Tyran Stokes has to pick between Kentucky, Kansas and Oregon but even that is subject to change.
 


All the drama about him not wanting to wear Adidas shoes and he goes to Kansas.
If wearing Nikes don't hurt your feet, nothing will
 
A lot of international recruiting going on right now. In addition to UF, UNC and ARK added international bigs
