Exactly because in my opinion, we have a generation who watches more mixtapes and highlights than actually studying the game.
They don't understand how to get open or proper footwork when stepping into your shot.

It's the travel organizations that spend more time playing games than actually practicing.
It's the only reason why players from Europe are more fundamentally sound.
In Europe, they have six practices for every game they play while in America, they play 6 games for every practice.

The best shooters in the world are largely American. Many of the best non-NorthAmerican shooters, with the similar levels of three-point threatening as the best Americans, can’t stay on the court for one reason or another like Bogdan, Fontecchio, or previously late-career arc Patty Mills.

Obviously, when they play in FIBA they are stars for their nations — no disputing that.

Pelle Larson is one of the Heat’s best players and yet he is also one of their worst shooters.

Dont see Gaskins getting nasty in the paint for rebounds. Seems like he may rely more on athleticism (i realize i am making snap judgments on a few minutes, but its for conversation).

Meaning, this makes the decision to fill out the five spot very interesting. We will need somebody physical to eat rebounds, but also need someone to provide spacing.

Right, which is why Udeh was a good partner and necessary.

But I think with Gaskins/Shelton, an Udeh type can cause offensive issues.

Who knows tho, maybe Shelton develops a post game or 3 point shot and this is moot.

Euro players are fundamentally very sound skill wise but aren't ready for physicality and athleticism of the American game ... But once they learn to play with the physicality and athleticism around them, they can be reliable contributors.
