Probably need one but there are going to be names in the portal. Ideally, we need a lead guard that can get you 18+ PPG per night but we really need both backcourt starters to shoot over 35% from 3. I really think Tru will continue to excel in the microwave/6th starter role, so we really need a knockdown shooter/pure scorer out of the portal assuming the staff wants to keep Dante in a starting role.

Tru is a perfect 6th man in college. Perfect

Will need a replacement Big for the Udeh role as well. Plus, optimally, another serviceable big man for depth.

When does the Portal open?
 
How do we go from feeling great on McCoy and peck to radio silence on the recruiting trail when this program is being recognized the way it has over the last month and a half?

Kid is likely going to a place he OVed. Branham lists the main three schools as Miami, Arkansas, and Michigan; his fourth OV was to Alabama who is pursuing Caleb Holt, and has three top 50 wing commits already; two of which aren’t good three point shooters similarly to McCoy.

He also OVed to Duke but they are said to have stopped prioritizing him a while back with no indication they are interested again post Jordan Smith commitment.



Arkansas has three top thirty perimeter recruits already and likely have Knox, Richmond, Wagner, and Sealy all returning as perimeter players.

His OV to Michigan was scheduled after the reported deprioritzation by Duke. Michigan has three perimeter commits, the highest ranked of which was a recent reclassification & commit after the video above was uploaded. In the video from two months ago, Branham says Michigan is fading in this recruitment.

Michigan, Duke, UNC, UK, NC State, Indiana, and Arkansas are all pursuing Euro five star big man Miikka Muurinen. He has OVed to Arkansas, Michigan and Utah already. May return for more visits now that he left the Serbian team he was playing for.

Is anything definitive there? No of course not but seems odd how radio silent recruiting has been

The transfer portal is open now for people to enter but it is full of mid major guards who are somewhat undersized and really don't fit the length, physical, athletic defensive type of team Coach Jai wants to play.
I am keeping an eye on the two guys from Providence as potential transfers.
That is where the replacement for Udeh Jr can come from.
