Don’t usually follow basketball recruiting but I see we’re offering a ton of top 20 recruits. Is that typical or are we targeting a higher caliber of player than we have before?

Miami has always offered high end guys, it's the close rate that has been less than optimal. L was also more likely to move off of high end guys, once he was convinced they weren't truly interested. I'm wondering how Lucas deals with that, because he likely isn't used to guys ruling his school out immediately, due to his background of being at schools like Duke, Kentucky and Texas. Happy to see him go big game hunting, but I also hope he realizes that he has to recruit depth, Miami will never be a school that stacks burger boys on top of each other.

This is not a huge loss. Largely because of the amount of talent in the State of Florida this year.
Any combination of Alex Constanza, Colin Paul, Willie Burnett, Kevin Thomas, Toni Bryant, Caleb Gaskins and Marcis Ponder will be a Top 10 maybe Top 5 recruiting class.

Illinois is probably the biggest threat preventing him from going to Miami due to his uncle being an assistant coach.
