Collin Paul and Marcis Ponder earned some respect!
When you hear their name in these streets, you respec it!
I ain't gone say it no mo!

Collin was playing extremely well at the NBPA Top 100 camp today before going down with what appeared to be a knee injury.

Playing on the same team as Marcis Ponder, who also went out with an injury after taking an elbow to the face.

Hoping neither injury is serious and they get back on the court soon

With Marcis Ponder, Collin Paul, Toni Bryant, Alex Constanza, Caleb Gaskins, Kevin Thomas and Willie Burnett, there is literally no way Miami cannot have a Top 10 recruiting class with any combination of these guys.

It's really surprising to me that Lucas isn't recruiting Ponder.
In talking to some college coaches, it seems the opinion on Ponder varies and are coming from both sides of the spectrum. Some coaches love him and think he can be impactful and has got pro potential, while other coaches just don't think he's any good at all.

My take on Ponder is that he can rebound and block shots at an elite level. Has a high motor and is tough. Moves fairly well for his size. These are all traits and skill that easily transition to the next level. His offensive game however needs a lot of work.

Miami likes Ponder, but I don't think they feel confident in getting him.

Interesting, so we are recruiting him? At worst, I think he develops into a solid defensive big at the college level.

From my understanding, Jaden Lopez and Calvin Russell want to play both football and basketball in college.
If I was a coach, I would take both.
It can be done but it has some challenges.
Imagine playing football into January then joining the basketball team in February during conference play before going back to football for Spring practice immediately after March Madness.
It sounds easy until you do it. The mental and physical challenges require huge adjustment periods.

The last two seasons of Miami Hurricanes basketball has taught me two things for sure:
Defense and rebounding is very important. It matters a lot.......A WHOLE LOT!
