Our current commits:
Jaelen Waters
Jontavius Wyman
Brody Jennings
Camdin Portis
Kenton Dopson - reclassified

Cortez Redding in the only true Safety

We are still going hard after a couple more commits including Justice Fitzpatrick.
Would we move any of these players to safety or push out of the class if we flip Fitzpatrick and hold onto Dopson?

Of that group I think Portis and Dopson both may get a look at nickle or possibly safety…And that's not a knock on them.

I don't think any of these kids will be pushed out of this class unless they are having a bad season…At 105 schollies just flood the secondary and DL

Portis has been playing a nickel role for his team this year so looks like that may be the plan for him and hes look good there.

Add a Top Safety like Fitzpatrick to that class and keep Dopson, and it's absolutely legit, especially after last seasons class.

Think this offseason Nickel is probably the most consequential position of whether we pick up a portal guy or if one of the current CBs steps up to fill that role. But with Thomas graduating, we may go for another 1 year portal Safety. But otherwise we don't need any portal DBs. I mean hopefully Pruitt and Day step up so we don't need to, but I'm liking our 2-3 year roster at DB as of now.

Portal this year is 100% about DLine. We need AT LEAST 1 DT and 1 SDE in the portal I think. Probably 2 DTs tbh.

2026:
OCB: OJ / O'Connor / Antione /
OCB: Lucas / D. Brown / Dobson /
Nickel: TBD / Ewald
S: Fitzgerald /
S: Poyser /

Nickel is most important. If any of the younger CBs wasn immediate PT, they should work their *** off to win the Nickel job imo. Portis is looking like a Nickel, but I would't expect him to get too much snaps as a Frosh. But like if Brody Jennings is willing to move to safety and we land an elite recruit like Justice Fitzpatrick, that'd be awesome. And need to keep Dopson.

It’s like that stretch between 2004-2006 where we successfully recruited 3 wide receivers in three years, and two quarterbacks during the same span.

D. Brown will probably play nickel next year. If that don’t work out he will transfer
