Yeah something about the Williams name and baserunning...Williams deciding to come home for FSU after the pitcher had looked him back was a wild decision
D1 had them in last four in prior to the weekend, so not trending the right direction. Is LSU squarely on the bubble, if not the first 4 out, currently w 60 RPI?
The NCAA is beholden to the RPI in baseball, and to the SEC in all sports. Can't blame them in baseball honestly w as many natties they have won since the turn of the century. The football and basketball bias is another story IMO.Still not ranked, yet Virginia remains ranked despite 3 more losses in conference, 4 more losses overall, and a worse Q1 record.
Not to mention all the ranked SEC teams with losing conference records.
We've got flaws no doubt, but at some point don't the games and records have to matter?
I honestly have not watched the teams ranked ahead of us that much. But our flaws are huge and would probably cause us to lose a series against the majority of those teams ranked ahead.Still not ranked, yet Virginia remains ranked despite 3 more losses in conference, 4 more losses overall, and a worse Q1 record.

It’s not a good baseball team. Not likely any of our flaws are magically fixed this late in year but if they magically were this team does have crazy potential….Heard yesterday we’re 270th out of 308 teams defensively - errors per game.
This doesn’t even include the mental mistakes and other mistakes that don’t qualify as errors - like not getting a bunt down or popping it up and base running errors. Combine this with all the walks and it’s impressive we’re even above 500 honestly.
Yeah - scoring 700 runs against Lehigh and Lafayette was fun but ultimately did not do much for us. I'd love to see us go to one of those tournaments in Texas or Arizona to start the year - kind of like florida state did (and their athletic department is in shambles). But that costs money, and we are (apparently, still) running a mom-and-pop shop that's trying to compete against Walmart.I was looking into the ranking discrepancies and noticed some interesting data regarding our strength of schedule I took FSU as an example since we are dead tie in ACC record. Our opponents' combined record is 402 wins and 320 losses, resulting in a 55.68% winning percentage. In comparison, FSU’s opponents have a record of 491-330, which is a 59.80 winning percentage. This difference in strength of schedule could be the primary reason why they are ranked and we are not, despite our team having a better overall record.
Although we're 12 - 10 vs RPI Quad 1 & 2 teams, while FSU is 6-12, for example. Although none of it matters IMO if Evans doesn't return and be effective right away. Our lack of top end wins is hurting us. It’s not more complicated than that.
