Neither one were going to be starters for them, but that is a hit to their depth.

Sellers younger brother was going to have an increased role in their Offense as the backup Slot & Gibson was supposed to be their big bodied Flanker backing up Nyck Harbor, they brought him over from Oklahoma.

Yup, everyone is in full pads and has had their scrimmages and such so injury news coming out

I don't know if there are any facts to back me up. But I feel like the way Mario demand a more physical practice actually reduces the more serious injuries. Probably causes a lot more bumps, bruises and minor issues. But I suspect it also makes bodies more flexible, tougher and more resilient.

I remember when Manny was talking about tackling people Rugby style to avoid more injuries thinking that's going to make things even worse. We had so many shoulder issues under his watch it was insane. And at the time I felt it was because he was too afraid to require kids to hit each other in practice.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has studied this or has an opinion.

Going into last year, we focused on cutting down soft tissue injuries, Peter galasso the director of rehabilitation played a big role in that

This however directly addresses your point; Mario said exactly that in the spring

Mario also emphasizes flexibility to an astronomical extent; and this has a twofold impact. First, on the evaluation side, we identify and acquire uber bendy, pliable players whose stability via their flexibility keep themselves healthier…..in turn, over time, as the eval process improved and virtually all of Richt’s and Diaz’s recruits are gone— we see the benefit of strengthening guys who are already built to last.

A lot of emphasis on good sleep & diet etc that keeps players durable

We also have some tuff badass mfs like Moten and lofton who can play thru pain.

Ervin Young talk;

Executive director for human performance; this was the hockey guy Mario hired— one of his first hires. He is actively publishing research if you wanna geek out

Kyle Bellamy was a pitcher here, played for the white Sox organization for a bit (idk what level), and works a lot with Eric. He just came back from the university of Oklahoma but he worked here under golden and Richt; in a lesser role

The behind the u podcast is where I learned about all these guys

Unless they think Kentucky or FSU are a challenge early, I'd go Russell for the upside. I mean one of South Carolina or MissSt could pose a trip-up spot but really their first 5 is the easy part, so you have some room for Russell to further grow... If he struggles you can always return to Mack for the UGA-LSU/Vandy stretch.... But If I were betting it'd be on them going with Mack cause he's a senior who can manage the game.

For his own sake I hope DeBoer doesn’t think they can just roll through any teams. They’ve lost to 3 teams in the past two seasons that finished with 7 or fewer wins, and were in dogfights deep into the 4th against several other 4-5 win teams.

They **** around and lose to a Kentucky team with a new head coach throwing the kitchen sink at them and he might not have a seat on the plane back from Lexington.
