2026-27 Men's Basketball Transfer Portal

Would imagine he's commanding starter NIL/minutes
Most likely, i was thinking Arizona would run with Ivan at the 4 but he will probably he be the 3 if they bring in Williams. Would be kinda funny if UNC replaces one FAU big with another.

Not sure how what type of production would a good backup portal option have this late in the cycle.

Who gets the lions' share of the credit for Louisville's unreal performance in the Portal? The boosters, the HC, the Business Mgr, etc?

To say they cleaned up is a massive understatement.

I guess another way to phrase this might be, what held us back from doing what they did? Was it all just about $$?

I’d say a lot of goes towards money. However, Technically, we matched them at the beginning with our own PG-C combo like they got with Jackson—Flory. Our PFs are similarly ranked; and actually, won the same award at the same school back to back years.

We each have a senior shooting/scoring guard transfer. Their outlier is they have an extra backup big already because they didn’t know they would win the battle for the kid whose father went to Maryland. Gaskins and their 5 star freshman center equal each other out in a sense.

Kanter Knox, Kevin Knox’s younger brother, is a former 5 star on the wing. Feel like if Calipari needed to keep Knox he would’ve tbh; but it is a solid pickup for Louisville. I think Bland and Dorn can matchup well against Montgomery and Knox as far as what they bring to each team.

I think we could’ve done a little bit better in the portal however we are better equipped than them imo because we have Shel returning. Their five star freshman left to the draft and their other top 3 scorers were all seniors. They have London Johnson who redshirted already in the program and I’d say he’s the equivalent to us getting Dante back. I guess they’d stack up Shel with Adrian Wooley returning.

They lost one of their starters in Fru to Marquette and Khani Rooths to OU. We similarly lost Timo to KSU and Tru to Xavier. Both of our backup bigs transferred to Saint Mary’s.

Until i typed this all out, i hadn’t recently the just how synchronized the parallel roster movements were. Their transfers are just ranked higher, that’s pretty much the biggest difference.

I agree and didn't really mean the comparison as a criticism of Jai. Every D-1 coach and AD in America could ask the same. Louisville sure put things together this cycle, regardless of how.

Saw one of these twins at an open gym back in the day right before they announced they were going to OTE. At one point, they were ranked higher than the Thompson twins.

They are from down here so something to monitor if they ball out at LIU & hit the portal.
