2026-27 Men's Basketball Transfer Portal

Especially if we do get that Georgia Center.

Team would be very good defensively tho, probably better.

Acaden is probably too talented to pass up tho, so get him in a develop that shot along with Shelton.
We’d be really talented with those two added to Shelton, Gaskins + Allen. That said, we’d probably have to end up staggering one of Allen/Gaskins and plug another shooter in somewhere via the portal.

With who we have coming in/coming back, I feel like this is a potentially clunky fit given what he doesn’t do well

As far as backcourt players, currently on the roster are Allen, Keyes, Laboy and Maddox.
Tru and Dorvat are in the portal while Donaldson is out of eligibility.
I actually think Miami needs two PGs and it feels like it will be two of the three: Lewis, Robinson and Lowe.
Of course, I could be wrong but I don't know what to expect from Keyes, Laboy and Maddox.
You are right to be concerned about the clunky fit but I think the goal of the coaching staff is to be a very good defensive team that rebounds well and leads the ACC in fast break points.
I think the shooting will improve but not necessarily by adding a shooter.
I think everyone on the team will improve their shooting over the summer.

He is probably going to follow Justin Gainey to NC State.
He is probably looking for a bigger role and NIL deal.

I don’t think he goes to NC State and imagine it’s more about maximizing his last years in college than just NIL; although he’s going to be paid.

Having to learn how to play with new teammates every year is a risk. Rick Barnes isn’t going to build the team around him so why stay?

He also tried him by starting a lower-ranked freshman, comparable to JP, for ten games & bringing in Jaylen Carey.

JP had 0 starts as a freshman. Cameron Carr transferred out and now is a first rounder. He was in the same recruiting class as JP. If he is going sacrifice for the team, rather than ball-out on a losing team, he prob will go somewhere where success is more likely
