I didn't say that's what they were waiting on, but otherwise yes. One reason is alluded to in this thread (and this page of this thread).
 
May's departure means that Michigan's players can explore their future options, as under NCAA rules a 15-day transfer window will open five days after a new head coach is hired or publicly announced.

This will give Michigan officials time to promote internally -- assistant coach Mike Boynton brings head coaching experience from Oklahoma State -- or bring in a new coach and still attempt to keep a talented roster in place.

With human shart Warde Manuel announcing that Mike Boynton is Michigan’s new head coach, there is a 5 day waiting period before players have 15 days to decide if they want to stay or go. Curious if we make any run at their 5 star point guard. Wouldn’t be surprised if Cadeau or Trey McKenney look around as well. Not necessarily here but they will draw interest from top programs

Believe trey said he’s returning no matter what; and he’s a Michigan guy iirc. Doubt Cadeau leaves either.

Michigan fans seem most worried about Moustapha Thiam and Brandon McCoy—both guys who haven’t played a game for them.

Yes, Trey is a Michigan kid. Played for Orchard Lake Saint Mary’s Prep. I actually watched Trey a few times in high school. A friend of mine who used to coach at Bama with Nate Oats thinks he is the best scorer he ever saw. Guy who just knows how to create angles, change of speed and just a bucket getter.
