Billy Donovan to Michigan?

Brian Windhorst reported that Jon Scheyer was offered the Dallas mavericks job along with being offered the Chicago bulls job (where he’s from) and Scheyer turned both of them down. Was closer to taking the mavericks job but coudn’t bring himself to do it without having won a national title at Duke first

IMO he is definitely not a duke lifer and will be in the league as soon as he gets a chip

If Michigan looks internally, presuming May doesn’t hire these guys to his NBA staff, this guy from Japan is presumably one of two logical frontrunners with Mike Boynton who coached Cade Cunningham as the other guy

May has never met his new assistant coach Mody Maor, but said he wanted to "hire a coach who’s better than me."

Over that time, May's reputation blossomed, both as a tactical coach in games and a coach who understands roster construction and what players work together on the floor. That includes oversized lineups, as Michigan became the antidote for the small ball revolution in college basketball by effectively playing multiple big men.

During Michigan's championship parade in April, athletic director Warde Manuel announced May had agreed to a new deal that would keep him at Michigan for "many years to come." That deal wasn't signed at the time of Manuel's proclamation, and no deal announcement emerged in the subsequent months.
