Kim English fired after three poor seasons at Providence.

if Gerry doesn’t get the Syracuse job, BC is a good spot for him. If not, they should go with Jay. Idk what happened but iirc BC fans are irate at how Blake James’ has handled this.

In other news, Matt Mchamon is still employed at LSU.

Pitt had quite a few injuries this season so they weren't as bad as the record would say.
They also have a top 10 recruiting class coming in so there shouldn't be any reason why they don't win 20 games in 2026-27.
Providence is an interesting job because I don't know what are the realistic expectations for that program.

Capel is 127-127 in 8 seasons at Pitt. Only one NCAAT appearance in those 8 years.

I was looking forward to seeing Miami play USF next season. That hasn't changed my thoughts even though the coaching change will drastically change their roster next season.
Now, I want to see if Jamier Jones and Oswin Erhunmwunse enters the transfer portal.
Right now, Oswin would be the best option to replace Udeh Jr if he enters the portal.
Jones is a FL kid who fits the mold of the team and he hit 39% of his 3 pt attempts last season

Wonder if Wes Ennis from USF portals. Would take him in a heartbeat

Charlotte has named Wes Miller as its next men's basketball head coach, the school announced Monday. Sources told ESPN that Miller agreed to a five-year deal, giving first-year athletic director Kevin White a marquee hire with strong regional ties.

Providence should be a consistent NCAA Tournament participant, they have legit pedigree and there's legit support for the program. Ed Cooley had them in the Tournament every other year, a quality coach should be able to replicate that success. Cooley likely wishes he had not fallen for the GU sales pitch, I don't think anyone can get that program back on track.

From a recruiting location standpoint, Georgetown is definitely a better job.
Ed just has to stack good recruiting class for multiple years in a row to be successful.
Ed will get the high major kids from the DMV to go to Georgetown and not the mid to low major kids we had coming to Miami under the previous staff.

Erik Konkol could be on the move again.
Jay Larannaga is also in the mix.

Until BC moves back to the Big East and gets serious about basketball, that job is the worst job in P5 by a large margin. There's nothing you can sell there, absolutely NOTHING. Honestly, the ACC should strongly consider booting BC, because they've been dreadful in everything for well over a decade.

BC hasn't made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2009.
The last time the BC women's program appeared in the NCAAT was 2006
The last time BC football won 9 or more games was 2008
BC Baseball has appeared in the NCAAT four times in the last sixty years

It's not 1990 anymore, GU has fallen behind, the cultural cache is long gone, people like me that grew up with GU being an elite program are now in our early 40s, and that's on the younger end. I think that GU has gone away from what worked under Big John. When you look at the roster, it's a lot softer than it was, likely because the snobs refuse to let coaches recruit the kids that have historically won at GU. GU was built on tough, physical players that were rough around the edges, but graduated and carried themselves with pride. I can't remember the last time GU had a team like that. It's either second and third generation kids(Like Ewing and Mutombo's sons) or guys that came through the local private school scene.

Ironically enough, the kind of team Pitino has built at St. Johns is the EXACT team that GU needs to build. That is the kind of team that will resonate with the community.
