Elijah Robert was getting some love recently as a draft sleeper.

Won't be for every scheme, but...really good athlete with size, productive, good metrics, and good tape. Could be a rotational edge setter for teams. Good effort guy. Good human. (Hi Mom)



If he can get a bit stronger and convert speed to power for the NFL level and learn some more tricks of the trade, he can have a nice career and cash a few checks in the league. He's played 3T all the way out to a standup player on the edge and he's got good hands.

I'd draft him.

His versatility makes him a very good depth commodity piece.

He can play 3-Tech, 4i, 5-Tech, or as an EDGE.

Good value pick in rounds 3 through 5.

Any team that goes 3 wins has an incompetent front office. Who has the best OL and pass pro? All things being equal, I'd take Giants over Tennessee or especially Browns. At least then he'll have tons of visibility and more sponsorships.
 
From 2000 through the 2019 NFL drafts, the amount of 1st round picks that signed a 2nd contract with their original team.

If I said late 2...too rich?

I think hes a safe contributor by the end of his rookie deal...

DT from UCLA that just re-signed w Cowboys. Kind of like that.

2nd round is too high IMO.

Too many teams will still have their draft boards intact where you wouldn't reach for a prospect like this, when you have someone graded higher at a position of need.

For most teams, the 2nd round is when the draft truly begins, because 1st rounders are mainly just about who's at the top of your board when you make your pick. But 2 & 3rd round is where you make your push to add value talent.

Teams often times reach in the 1st; they don't have to & shouldn't in the 2nd.

@Memnon thoughts on Zah Frazier of UTSA and Caleb ransaw from Tulane? i keep seeing them both with late day 3 grades but that seems low

Zah is very high upside Corner with freakish measurables & legit 4.37 speed. He's basically Tariq Woolen 2.0.

Great Ballhawking ability, with hip fluidity & is technically sound in Off coverage. Due to his height, it's an actually an advantage for him because he has the natural speed & movement to recover quickly, as opposed to be to squared in while pressed up lessening time to react to the ball.

The main knock on him is he's very thin & has a Basketball player's build, but otherwise he fits the mold of the new age Corners who are all these tall lanky track athletes that transition to Football.

He'll be a steal in the 4th round.

Caleb Ransaw IMO is better suited at Nickel/Safety than as an outside Corner.n

He has a good athletic profile, but his tape over 3 years as a starter was underwhelming & his lack of production is a Red flag given his physical upside. A legit 6'0 200lbs corner with sub 4.35 speed playing against high powered offenses in the Sun Belt & American should be a lot more productive over 4 years.

A team may take a flier on his athletic ability earlier than they should, but he's a 5th - 6th round prospect IMO.
