2025 College Baseball Talk

Was gonna say I bet his chance will come with a USC Upstate, College of Charleston, Furman, Mercer, etc type of program.

Duke would be a good one for him and probably what USCjr wants to see so they can watch him and have him on their list when old man is done.
Powell loves NG, and rumors are that he is holding out for the USC job, as I have a feeling it'll open up again soon

Surprised it didn’t open this offseason tbh. Hiring the old man went worse than I even imagined it could have.

Conference Carolinas to the SEC is a **** of a jump. He has the alumni and MLB pedigree going for him but idk if they ever pull the trigger and hire him until he has some D1 experience. They should, but I think they’ll look above him.

Yeah…I mean if anyone could do it…it’s him because all the ties to the school. But even just 2 years at a mid major, even with minimal results. NG gets almost anyone they want, massive transfers, nice facilities big time coaching staff. I mean they really should be in the series every year.

Speaking of that - they just signed a Japanese kid that sits 90-91 and is nasty. They're recruiting better arm talent than UM right now.

Was really shocked to see how bad David Lewis struggled in his jump from NGU to VT this year. OPS got almost slashed in half (1.329 to .784)

That 2023 lineup had no business not winning it all. 7 guys in that lineup that probably would have been the best hitter on 95% of D2 teams in the country.

I gotta say, I moved to coastal Mississippi back in April and I work in New Orleans, so I am around mostly LSU fans, their fan base is dedicated and super intense, and honestly, a lot of fun to watch their games with. It is quite the experience!
Any fan base that can lay claim to that huge Mardi gras Mike the Tiger float with blaring music driving around Omaha......I will support your team and have beers with your fans.

Had good times with their fans at the 96 CWS, 2005 Peach Bowl and 2018 in Dallas even though we lost every time

I go to church with 2 families from Louisiana. The dads and sons are absolute LSU baseball fanatics. As much as football. They fly back to at least one home series a year.

Haven't been watching but just saw that Coastals HC and 1st base coach were ejected in the bottom of 1st for some bs? That seems crazy. I swear baseball umps are literally the biggest ******** of all refs.

The NCAA is really suspending them for 3 ******* games for this? Pure insanity

Even though the scores would seem to indicate close games, it felt like the '01 Canes football vs Nebraska the whole time. The chasm between the top SEC teams' talent level each year (esp. pitching), and every other conference, still feels huge.

The only reason it wasn't another all SEC Final is due to AR being in the same bracket as LSU.
