2025 College Baseball Talk

Duke is going to get ravaged between graduation and the draft. They need a good hire quick to keep the programs momentum

I would also see if Owen Proksch is interested in a change of scenery and if he doesnt get drafted very high if he is open to 1 more year. He could be a legit Friday guy. Just switched from the pen to starter midway through this year.

Thats the first name that came to mind...and I like Pollard a lot...but this guy could potentially keep that rolling and then some.
Wonder if Dusty Blake gets a look? I remember someone else hiring an MLB assistant and in the middle of the season he left to the school. Can't remember who but it was pretty recent.

Remember him being HC at Pfieffer when I was playing against them and know he moved his way up to Duke's pitching coach and then to the Cardinals organization.

Sooner or later someone is going to take a chance on Powell too. Or he is going to take the leap. I know its a big one and he gets whoever and whatever he wants at NG...but Duke is pretty invested in baseball. He played high level so its not completely a stretch. You just wonder if he needs to do a Longwood, Wofford, Elon size program first

Was gonna say I bet his chance will come with a USC Upstate, College of Charleston, Furman, Mercer, etc type of program.

Duke would be a good one for him and probably what USCjr wants to see so they can watch him and have him on their list when old man is done.

Didn't Furman get rid of their program now that I think about it...?? probably won't be them. He probably would have been at the top of the list already for that job being right down the road.

Jay Johnson is good but he's going to have a hard time keeping up with and hitting on every back fill on these guys leaving for HC jobs. Wes Johnson to Georgia hurt their pitching and this likely hurts as well. NIL and tradition will help them and they won't be bad or anything. Just hard to get back to the top like that.

If you didn’t see the highlights Gage W from Arkansas was filthy today. 19k no hitter. Still chucking 97-98 in the 9th.
Anybody know why he didn't throw against LSU?
I was trying to get some work done while it was on and just shut the computer off. It was his day. Unbelievable performance.
