2025 College Baseball Talk

UF just went to 1 - 10 in SEC after losing another home series (Vandy this time). Place was empty compared to our series.

We're even further behind the top tier SEC/ACC teams than I would have ever guessed.
Sad but true.
I've been thinking about our reset roster come June 1st. Who stays who goes?
Lots of older players who are out of eligibility and will move on.
Bring back Peralta, Torres, the two Catchers.....not sure about DeGoti and Puig?
The majority of the freshmen Pitchers need to come back.
Robert and Walters, I would bring back.
Ogden can help, maybe at 2B?
Million $ question is Cuvet? That will be the new Manager's first priority once he takes over....does he want to stay? What's his asking NIL #
I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk.
Next year will be a lot of new faces....if we retain 12 players, that would be high in my estimation of the future roster.

Assuming it's a new, and hopefully established, head coach, you have to trust his instincts and experience IMO.

You might lose a Cuvet, etc. But if there's a credible strategy to rebuild the program, I'll gladly suffer through a year or two of growing pains.

Whoever the new skipper is needs to pick his rebuild… Cuvet with REAL quality transfers or flush it get some nice young transfers and start recruiting like crazy your guys and coach them up.

Either way this team sadly needs to be completely torn down to the studs and put it back together it’s seriously not good at any part of the game

BC will have some momentum heading into next weekend as well after taking a road series from Wake Forest.

7 losses in a row for Georgia Tech after dropping their series to UVA

Not surprised on GTech. I mentioned they faced the trash of the Acc so far.

Our baseball team is mediocre but the league is weird this year. So it’s working in our favor. Just don’t get swept by Nc state or uva and beat Fiu this time around and we should be ok.

But then next year will likely be another 26-32 win type season. But a lot of young talent that will be dying to be developed.

I’ll just hope Soto makes us physically superior assuming Jd survives another year or two.

The way they played defense definitely did not scream upper echelon team.

I think 16 team leagues with no divisions may just be weird. You’re at the point where you’re missing a third of league each season. Our schedule has actually turned out to be reasonably representative, missing teams from all over the standings, but you can get some that are really out of whack.

What Texas is doing in their 1st year in the SEC is crazy. I guess Schlossnagle knew what he was doing. With their alumni base and resources, the SEC just keeps getting more dominant.
Softball too.

Miami ever going to field a team? With increased baseball scholarships, they have to add some Title IX women's scholarships somewhere, don't they?
There was something rumored last year, on this forum even. Don’t know the latest.
