And knocked our RPI down another five spots to 125th. Really need to hang on tonight.Liberty just beat Wake 11-8
Maybe sully’s time is up in Gainesville and we can bring his unhappy face hereUF is now 0 - 6 to start SEC play, after being run-ruled again by GA at home. Not sure whether I am happy or sad.
Nice guy and all but this is a results oriented business.
How did we miss on his high school teammate Lebron? Who actually wanted to come to Miami.UCF dropped his switch hitting and focused on reducing his chase rates. He still swings and misses at breaking stuff more than you'd like, but it's now in the 20's % for K rate than the 30's at Miami.
Another story of development elsewhere for a Miami player that will look bad on this staff in recruiting/draft.
Antonio Jimenez, SS, Central Florida
Weekend Line: 10 AB, .400 BA, 1 3B, 2 SO, 1 BB
Antonio Jimenez is off to a hot start this year for the Knights, slashing .307/.424/.493 in 92 plate appearances across 22 games. This is coming after a freshman season at Miami where he played in 45 games but hit only .182 with 36 strikeouts in 122 plate appearances. He followed up that stint with a mediocre appearance on the Cape that had a lot of whiffs as well. So far, Jimenez appears to have righted the ship, and in the process he’s anchored this UCF team to a strong start to the season.
Sorry, I don't have any info on that one. My guess is they simply prioritized Jimenez. How did we miss on his high school teammate Lebron? Who actually wanted to come to Miami.
This kid is living up to the hype so far.
Not a great fielding team ...UNC got moved up to 19 after this weekend. Not too sure what went on with the teams ahead of them, but they did not look like a ranked team this weekend imo. Decent arms, but bats are nowhere for them
