Still a better fate than Iowa State got. At least Tennessee got to play for 3rd place which had money on the line.

Iowa State went 2-0 but had the lowest point differential of the five undefeated teams because St. John's hit a layup at the buzzer to make Iowa State's win over them a 1 point win instead of a 3 point win. That bumped them below Kansas on point differential.

So now Iowa State goes undefeated (with a win over top-15 St. John's) but doesn't have an opportunity to play for any of the money that goes to the top 4 teams, and on top of that, for some reason they get paired in their 3rd game with a team that went 0-2 in the Players Era Festival in Syracuse instead of playing any of the teams that went 1-1.

The men’s team needs to spend the next two weeks running whatever FT drills the women’s team does. Just closed out a game in OT going 8/8 from the line.
