Tulsa takes home the Mayor's Cup against down the street rival Oral Roberts.

Definitely their bigs are legit. And were impactful last year, but more so as complimentary pieces to the guards/wings you named.

The funny thing about this is that Fland was considered a defensive-first player at Arkansas, though he could score as well. But now the UF and national people seem to think he’s a #1 or 2 option. He’s a very good player, but his trademark is defense, not shooting. I think the expectations for Fland at UF are unreasonable.

All the better for us.
Fland is a #3 on a nationally contending team

Would watch Caputo and Boston College pretty closely. Only a matter of time before BC moves on from Earl Grant (they just lost to Central CT St.) and there's the Blake James connection there.

That said, you could very well argue GW is the better job at the moment.
I don't think that any A-10 job is better than the worst ACC job. BC, just by virtue of being in the ACC, has the higher ceiling imo.

I see Dayton as clearly the best job in the A-10, followed by VCU and then perhaps Richmond.

Caputo has done OK at GW but even his 21-13 record last season only got him 7th place in the A-10 and a CBC bid (where GW was promptly blown out by Boise State, 89-59).

A hard place to recruit agasinst big-time Maryland and Gtown. Even Mason and American U might be ahead of them in the local pecking order talent-wise.

BC is an absolute mess of an athletic department at the moment.

Highly doubt Caputo would go to BC.

GW might have a bigger basketball NIL budget than BC this year. And that’s 100% credit to Caputo.

I don’t see Caputo leaving GW for anything less than an elite job.

The trend line has been going the right direction and they look pretty good this year.

I think UK is a little overrated after watching them lose to an albeit good Louisville team.
I don’t think they have the PG to be a top 10 team.
One thing playing against a Tom Izzo team early in the season will do is expose all your weaknesses.

Whatever flaws you have in the half court, Mich ST's Defense will put it on full display.
