This will be the first MTE of the Jai Lucas era.
Of course, this is not official until Duke wins the National Championship.

FWIW Regarding the UF game

...Trilly has said that it is going to happen and it is going to be a "Series" over the next couple years.

Grain of salt, of course, but Trilly is an excellent basketball source.
 


When I said Miami should play UF, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU and FGCU, some people were very critical about the scheduling.
However, Will Wade is at NC State and this is the same approach that he is taking to get fans to come to the game. State is playing UNCG, UNC Asheville and NC Central. All in State schools that fans are familiar with and want to see NC State play in the non conference.
This is not a post to criticize the hire of Coach Jai Lucas as it an example that fans want to see in state schools play in the non conference portion of the schedule as there is a connection between in state games and fan attendance.

That is a gauntlet in comparison to what nc state is playing but I would love that absolutely

I agree but the pros significantly outweigh the cons. You prepare you team for ACC play while playing in from of sold out or near sold out crowds.
It doesn't matter if it's a home or road game, those games would be a near sell out.
If the athletic department really wanted to save money, they could make the game a men's and women's doubleheader while charging $5 extra dollars for tickets.
At least that is what I would do in the non conference portion of the season.
 


Not bad for year 1 under Coach Jai Lucas.
I would rather see them play UCF, USF, FGCU and FAU instead of Elon, Delaware St, Southern Miss and ULM.
 


Pat Kelsey really believes he is that guy and I have to give him credit for scheduling tough competition.
I respect him for that.

Still find it ridiculous we aren't playing Duke. Overall, our conference draw looks very favorable and manageable on paper.
