Wasn’t so much talking about recruiting ( other than the fact it would give Mario another year to find a top QB ) as I was having a stud 5th year QB to lead the team cause as of right now unless you’re counting Emory as a top QB there’s not one on the roster and getting one this year doesn’t look imminent.
I have no doubt Emory will be much better by this time next year.
Very intense when it comes to this football thing, and he showed a lot of leadership qualities in limited reps on Saturday.

Did he end up at the OSU game like the recruiting websites reported?

Meh… I’ll take him as a secondary option we need a much much better QB than him…

Don't sleep on Emory. He's the son of this guy:

Speaking of Chance and JoJo being in sync, @One9 captured this in the Spring Game Visitors thread

We want at least four IMO. I'd like five. We only took two last cycle and they are both small.

What’s wrong with small receivers? If they can catch and get open, that’s all you need. Big receivers tend to be overrated, slow/stiff and become busts more frequently

Nothing. They have their roles. You also need receivers with size so you can run your whole playbook. They have their roles too. You need a complete WR room. Which is why UM has desperately been trying to add a playmaker with size this off-season.

Height definitely matters in football. It's only one of many variables, but let's not pretend it's not important. Top WR's this year, as ranked by 247:

In the modern passing game, a wide receiver who can consistently make contested catches is worth their weight in gold. Most of the guys who are beating DBs for 50/50 balls are 6' and up. Not that smaller guys are worthless. They definitely have their role but usually short guys have to be open to make catches where you can throw it to a taller guy who's well covered and he'll still make the catch.

You arent lying there, but to be clear the model WR has changed a bit from the towering Megatrons of the world to guys that are around 6 feet and have the flexibility to be moved around the LOS and create instant separation. Jefferson, Chase, Kupp, CeeDee, Wilson, Devonta, Tyreek, Waddle, Diggs and Amon-ra arent big.

Yeah the 6'4" guys aren't as en vogue these days but those guys for the most part are still 6' and up. It's tough to have a bunch of 5'9" receivers who aren't Tyreek Hill fast.
