2024 NFL Draft Thread

Jackson Powers Johnson went 44th and Penei Sewell signed the largest contract for an NFL lineman ever this week.

There’s a litany of Mario recruits in the NFL, but I don’t know how closely you follow.

So 1 guy this year. That didn’t play or thrive until he switched positions under Lanning…

But I don’t know how close you follow…

Edit: has this wrong, he got burn as a freshman across the line and settled in as the top center his junior year.

This is probably one of the deepest CB drafts in several years. There's guys like Dwight McGlothern, Myles Harden, Jarvis Brownlee, DJ James & Micah Abraham who will all be available in the later rounds, but will likely be contributing starters in the league & play well.

Then you have a versatile Swiss army knife style prospect like Jaylin Simpson. He's a Safety, but played a ton of Corner in college & has very good speed to play both spots. He was also excellent in coverage for most of his career.

Beanie Bishop is probably the biggest sleeper at CB in the draft. One of the best technically sound cover corners in this year's group & has very good speed/athletic ability. The only knock on him is size, but he's an ideal Nickel that can also play Field.
Go lions!

Undersized centers with little to no positional flexibility are not very well liked in draft circles.
Exactly. So why didn’t he just come back for his last year? He could make more money in NIL, and get picked in the later rounds next year.

False. He started 3 games as a true freshman. He also played snaps at both guard positions, and at Center his freshman season.

Very fair. And good call.

Underlying concern is there are countless comments on how coach A left the cupboard bare based on the draft, to explain the record for coach B… but not acknowledging that coach B left the same amount of talent per the draft for coach C…

Either way, draft picks are fun, but winning is better …

On to 2024… he’s loading up… Time to win

No surprise, the top teams last year had the most selections in top 100 picks.

Talent talent talent

Washington-7
Michigan-6
FSU-6
Alabama-6
UGA-6
Texas-5
Miami-1

Those top three are going to fall way down the lists this season. Miami will climb significantly. Time to shine.

I have a feeling universities do not present good arguments. Ja'Tavion Sanders is a talented player predicted to be off by the second round... and he hasn't been picked yet.

Undersized and slow.

So tired of hearing Alabama's ******* name from these broadcasters everytime a player that transfered from there within 1 year gets drafted lol. All they did was recruit the guy shut the **** up
