Name your ultimate D - Line you would wish for in this class

SDE - Jayden Wayne
He has great length and athleticism. He has a frame to add good weight and be a 265-270lb freak

1T - John Walker
James Smith would be my #1 but don’t think it’s realistic. Not sure how much interest he has in us, but I like him as an anchor on the interior with some pad rush ability.

3T - David Hicks
This one is a no brainer. He is explosive and strong. Would be great against the run and pass. Nightmare match up for interior linemen

Edge - Nyckoles Harbor
This is my favourite prospect in this class. His size/speed combo is unheard of. Once he is coached up he will be terror off the edge

*Reuben Bain would be a want in this class. I’m not sure where he projects on the D Line - maybe as an interior pass rush specialist If he can add some more weight to his frame.

Love this list. Not sure how realistic it is, but I'd definitely be impressed.

As for Bain, I think he ends up being some kind of 'joker' DL that can play all along the line. I'm interested to see if he has, or can develop, the strength to be a 'force' inside, while still keeping his quickness. I hope we take 5 DL this class, allowing Bain to develop without having to focus on simply playing just DE or DT.

SDE - Jayden Wayne/ Samuel M’Pemba

NT - Terrance Green/ Kelze Howard/ Connor Knight

3/4 Tech - Ashton Porter/ Rueben Bain

WDE - Kerrington Lee/ Yhonzae Pierre/ Isaiah Nixon
This....purely on numbers....

I'd be EXTREMELY disappointed and surprised if any of the lists projecting 4 to 5 kids comes to fruition. No fuggin chance.

We might take 4 or 5 DEs alone. We need major upgrades there to go with Moss and Kelly. Im thinking we take minimum 8 including DTs. Also Bain is a DE. Love how u man try to put players where they clearly don't wanna play. He got 29 sacks if the numbers can be trusted playing DE. Thats where he going

I think we take a lot but we probably back file with portal again. 8 DL means 4 transfers out in 2 years. If we portal and recruit 4-6 the next 2 years we get our numbers balanced. If we can land 8 great, but I don’t see studs lining up to be the 4th DE in a class.

Yes they will lineup to be 4th man if we recruit them right. If Clemson can do it and basically have 2 full units of first teamers and blue chip on the DL that's what we have to do as well. Its the only way to compete with playoff caliber teams like Bama and UGA.....and thats after knocking off Clemson.

Great post! It’s always hilarious to see the CiS “experts” trying to change a kid’s position, even though said young man excels at his current position. People try to pigeon hole players based on measurements. But there are ALWAYS gonna be players that will excel at their position no matter what their height is.

Yup. Its like they never seen insane DEs who were not 6'4, 260. Like Dwight Freeney wasn't a QB terror. Or James Harrison, not even sure he was 6 feet, terrorising the NFL backfields. Matter of fact that who Bain reminds me of. James Harrison. Effort and toughness.

I know Harrison personally. He played at Kent State while I was a trainer and that dude was one of the scariest people I knew. He played with an intensity that few have but make no mistake about it, he had a few screws loose.

I’m not an expert, nor have I ever claimed to be.

I just had the opinon that Bain would be a good interior rusher, I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to have that opinion.

I apologize, won’t happen again.

Also you'll be rebutted by people finding the 1-2 examples of total and complete outliers while disregarding the many others that didn't make it at that height/weight in the role despite their infinite "want" and "drive"

Are we going after any 320lb plus nose tackles

This guy visits in a couple weeks and even as a 4* top 247 kid, he is underrated IMO. He has some serious twitch and get off at that size. Hopefully UGA lands the NC NT they are after soon, that will help. We need to knock it out of the park w this kid on his visit. Everyone is after him of course but he is set to visit us on 4/12. Also visiting Auburn, Texas, TAMU, and Kentucky. He has been to UGA, Wisconsin and Rutgers already.
