With all the negativity on Manny at the moment, let's not forget it's his first year and just maybe, he learned something.

What are the expectations Manny needs to achieve in order to keep his job another year?

Personally, at least 9 wins, with highly ranked defense, a respectable looking offense, and a win over FSU.

I think if he wins 8, he's safe by the schools standard.

I know this guy isn't the guy for UM I'm 200% confident in that. If he wins a bit this amateur admin will give him a lifetime deal. He has to win 10 and coastal and compete vs Clemson not get the doors blown off and win on the trail. It has to be a number of things to me

Sadly you're right, they'll probably let him stick around another year if he wins 8. He'd better hope Lashley has the offense humming from the jump because after that pathetic **** show he put on this year, Temple isn't going to just lay down for Manny and his mighty Hurricanes. If he manages to lose that one, all bets are off. UAB will be a God **** struggle and he may not make it past game 3.

That has to be the standard every year. The coastal is a ***** joke. It is the worse division in the power 5. We should be 7-2 at worse every year in this conference and thats including a loss to Clemson in the ship.

We already got ******** talking up manny after he loses to FIU Duke and La tech. “Defense was good bro”.
The fans that support Diaz are desperate to be correct. It's not about that it's just about the guy has shown he is not the man to lead us back...it's super clear and some cling on to good news like things have changed. It's the same old **** coaching and the guy knows how to trick people through his social media bullshyt. He isn't the guy we should cut ties now because the longer we wait the price goes up for Mario.

He has to consistently do that, too.
If he does, then all is well. We all just want to be respectable and not a laughing stock, whether a "mope", "sunshine pumper" or cautiously optimistic.

IMO at the very least he needs to win every game they should win to keep the job. We can debate all day which games those are though but I’m meaning no FIU type games. Look at the schedule and that’s hard enough to say without context for those game. Injuries, how the offense is picking up, etc. They’ve committed at least this coming season to giving him a chance but if anything shows the same as last year, immediately cut ties.

Blake will try to leech on to Manny for dear life so any success will be greatly exaggerated. If Alonzo Highsmith comes in I hope he just starts fresh & sends Manny & his barboys packing. Personal opinion.

If the team loses to anyone on that sch. beside Va Tech and FSU fire him.

To me with that schedule anything less than an undefeated season is a Failure.

Manny has set the bar so low that he can claim
Improvement if he wins 8 games.

Even though real fans know it’s no improvement cuz he was favored in 10 game this previous season.

I honestly believe there are a couple scenarios that are acceptable to the leadership now:

1. Win 10 games and lose the Coastal to some team that jumps up and has an amazing season. In this scenario, although it's unlikely we'd win 10 games and not the Coastal, were he to notch 10 wins, the progress would be undeniable and you'd have to give him another season.
2. Win 8 games and the Coastal. You know how weird and weak the Coastal is. I think UVA had an 8-4 record and won the Coastal, right? Anyway, if he wins the Coastal, it would buy him another year because of all the screen time AND we'd be in the Orange Bowl. That would be too much in his favor to not give him another year.

If he doesn't win the Coastal, but does win 9 games...ehhh, it just depends on the climate with the BOT's. If we sort of luck win 3 or 4 of those 9 wins and the team is sort half-assing it and Diaz looks lost and blah, blah, blah, then he's probably gone. If he's dropping games, but then beats FSU and has a resurgence at the end of the year and the team is trending positively and growing, then he probably survives.

But, I think unless he wins the Coastal, the very bottom floor for him would be 9 wins and surging at the end. I can't imagine he would survive with only 8 wins and no Coastal. Truth is, if he only wins 8, including the bowl game, and he wins the Coastal, it might not be enough.

I think his only path to 100% being brought back for 2021 is 10 wins, even if it takes the bowl game to notch the last one. Less than that and he needs help.

And, with Lashlee, the returning D, a new PK and a rising sense of self-preservation, plus this weak schedule where we will have more talent than all 12 regular season foes, there's no acceptable reason save for an unholy amount of injuries to starters, for him not to win 10 games. Basically, I'm assuming we'll be outcoached in multiple games and it will actually cost us in two. With Lashlee and this D, it seems reasonable.

That’s what I mean in a way I agree with you. The admin won’t have that standard though, which is insane but I’ve accepted it. If he loses a game they should obviously win in a FIU type of way, he has to go. At that point they gave their man what he claimed to need and it didn’t change the outcome. If it was me, I’d fire them all and go all in financially on producing a staff even though I know academics take priority there. In my opinion schools that have top paid coaches (Bama, Clemson, etc) make that money spent back ten fold. I don’t understand why shared ACC money is good enough to peruse academic goals instead of used as a baseline. You gotta spend the $10 to turn it into $20.

We won't even know if so is a good hire we just do not know. If he gets hired we will know later down the road.....some fans think if we bring that it's automatically a good thing. We just don't know
