Schedule is back loaded, pretty “tough” 4 game stretch with UNC, @UVA, FSU @ VA. Tech to finish up against @ GA Tech and Duke. 2 teams that beat you last year...

Yeah it’s going to be incumbent on us to do well to start off the season by going 4-0. If we do, that back end to the schedule won’t be as bad as we think. Start off 2-2 however and those back end teams will have all kinds of hops when we play them later this year

Schedule sets up really nice but Temple is going to be watching the FIU/LaTech games on repeat every single day, with the added spice of the Manny debacle. Fortunately that one is at home.

Getting Pitt at home is big as is the bye week before UNC, which will probably be the best team we play this year.

Once again, looks like 10 wins easy, but at this point we know how that goes.

If we are worried about this schedule then we are in big trouble. We dont know what the record of those teams on the back end will be but they will probably all be like 5-3 teams. Nothing to be scared about.

Same story every year. Should win 10-11 games based on weak schedule/we have more talent on paper. If we don’t get it done this year Manny needs to be shown the door.

That schedule isn't as lax as most think....there's legit competition beginning with a 9-win UAB team that's going to be confident coming into HRS. Not that we'll lose to UAB, but tell which game is a "cupcake" contest in this 9 game stretch.....
UAB-Mich St-Pitt-Wake-UNC-UVA-FSU-VT-and a suddenly very dangerous GT team......

All this talk of 11-1 or 10-2 or bust is wild talk. Our kids need to learn HOW to win, avoid going into games not respecting their opponents because they've been HYPED UP to feel they are better....well as Zach McCloud said, we are nothing right now, we were 7-6 and then 6-7 the past 2 years, which isn't much better if not significantly worse than several of those teams listed above during that 9 game stretch.

Don't be fooled by that 9 win number. UAB played one of the softest schedules in the country (ranked 125th out of 130) in 2019.

They beat:
5-6 Alabama St.
0-12 Akron
2-10 South Alabama
3-9 Rice
4-8 UTSA
1-11 ODU
1-11 UTEP
10-3 LaTech (J'Mar Smith DNP)
4-8 North Texas

They were TERRIBLE on offense, ranking 46th out of 60 in the G5.

ETA: Just in case anyone was thinking of suggesting that their defense was pretty good; the points per game average of the teams that they defeated was 20.9 which places them in the 88th percentile.

The teams they lost to averaged 16 points above their season totals on average.

UAB was a bad team in a bad conference who played a bad schedule and happened to catch the worst of the best teams they played without their best player.

There is 0% chance we lose to UAB. I'll be surprised if we don't win by 40.

Much better schedule next season in terms of off dates. The team should be able to get into a rhythm/flow without odd off dates and games on Friday nights. Those last six games will test our depth. Let's hope we can stay healthy during that stretch.

Predicting 9-3 regular season with a furious fan base by the end as we lose two games to coastal opponents down the stretch to miss the acccg and head into a bowl demoralized.
Final record 9-4, but manny will be retained because the record improved and we are making progress.

hope to god I’m wrong and get this post bumped and a thousand negs.

The reason people think we should easily win 10 games or more is they have the old school Miami mentality where 10-2 was a disappointment, like 1990. The fact that we've only had one 10 win season for the past 15+ years, anyone thinking that is crazy and yet I still think we should. I did think like that up until last year's debacle, which was historically bad to close the season with consecutive losses against FIU, Duke and La Tech and a L to a 3-9 Ga Tech team at home.

Only to crash back to the depths of **** in 2021 when King and our DEs leave. We simply can't lose the Coastal this year. If we can't win it this year, I am not confident going into 2021.

I'm not worried, we have TVD. Let's focus on this year. Baby steps. We are talking about temple , it's not like ALABAMEE. We will be fine.
