2020 depth chart

Should be a top 10 team next year. ****, if we had a kicker who could make 20 yard FGs we'd be a top 10 team this year.
I saw A stat that since the beginning of the 2018 season Miami has 7 losses by 7 points or less which was the 2nd most in the country. (Have 4 losses by 7 points or less in 2019). That tells me we need to close games better. In 2017 we won those games however within the last 2 seasons we haven’t

You never going to like a group if you don’t give guys enough time to develop. Taking a grad transfer is the absolute last thing we should do at either of those positions period
loved what you said about Pope and Payton, BUT this one is very similar as far as logical thought process for me. Process, Process, Process... KJ was brought here as much for maturity, as he was for ball catching. I'm not sure that the room couldn't use another season with a leader coming in from outside. I believe in these kids, but one more for leadership might be necessary. Talent wise, we're good to go.

Silly comment, “pope doesn’t have that dog in him”. How can you tell that on how pope sparingly has been used since coming back from his injury AND on Payton’s 1 catch for 15 yards this season. His freshman season is just as productive or even non productive as pope’s was...

I agree That payton will be a beast but it’s extremely careless to make that statement
right lol Noodles is going to be a BEAST and so will Payton. Let's let them develop and watch it play out. Pope knowing the playbook for a second season is in itself, a game changer.

Thoughts -
  • This offense has a chance to be special with an off-season of development for Jarren and the OL. And they stay healthy
  • WR Depth and Numbers are very low. Not a big fan of how Stubbs has recruited so far, but we'll see how he closes this class. Need Pope and/or Payton to emerge next year and have Harley and Wiggins carry over their recent play to next year
  • TE is stacked (thank you Todd Harley lol)
  • OT position is still very very light. Not good, seeing as where there were so many SoFla Tackles in this recruiting class we missed on (Walker, Dumervil, Mincey, etc.). Butch Barry is suspect for his bad recruiting so far too

Thoughts -
  • Going to have an ELITE D-Line next year. Especially if Garvin comes back. DL factory is developing back at the U!
  • Will be a very interesting off season at LB to see who emerges to replace Shaq and Pink. IMO the 4 top guys are (Mccloud, Huff, Brooks, and Austin - Cave). Gotta think Steed, Jennings, Joyner think about transferring out especially if we somehow land Flowe. IMO we maybe lose experience but gain way more speed at the position
  • CB Depth is laughable. Rump's recruiting/position management is brutal and will kill us if we have any injuries
  • Safety is very solid with Gurvan emerging and Bubba coming back from injury
  • Striker is solid too if Gilbert can make a leap next year

I don’t see a dominant Offense at all for next year. We’ll need a lot of guys to take drastic steps forward or we’ll be in a very similar spot.

It's all about the offensive line. They've improved the last 3-4 games and if they continue to gel and take a big leap next year, we've seen flashes of what the offense can do

Michael Irvin graduated yet or is he due to graduate? Could see him grad transferring for a chance to start somewhere even if it’s G5. Doesn’t come off as selfish but if Hodges wasn’t on a RS restriction rule, Irvin would probably be the 4th TE. Certainly wouldn’t blame him if he did. Guys like Garvin, Thomas, and Bandy have no business trying to declare. Garvin has played better as of late but certainly hasn’t lived up to what he should’ve been. Plus coming back to the exact same DL should definitely entice him. Thomas has been a cancer his whole career but I highly doubt he’d even be drafted at this point. Bandy will get knocked continuously on his size. He’d get drafted for sure but I’m not sure it would be very high. Corn Elder to me was a better athlete and pure corner and he didn’t get drafted until the 5th round. If Garvin and Bandy want to get drafted anywhere from the 5th to 7th rounds then sure, declare.

And this makes no sense at Miami with all the talent in SoFla. Really speaks to Stubbs and Rumphs inability to recruit

I mean Stubbs just got here so I’m not knocking him yet. Redding and possibly Worsham. I’d say that’s a pretty solid first class for him. Rumph on the other hand..,,
