2018 Schedule Released

I hate Thursday and Friday games. ESPN controls the college football schedule.

Does Alabama ever play Thursday night games? Thursdays and Fridays should be left to the non P5 teams.

Pretty sure it was a part of the ACC/ESPN contract that every single ACC has to host one Thursday night game.

CBS doesn't have a spot for Thursday night football, and if they did I'm sure they'd put a game there.

If we could schedule Florida or Notre Dame every year our schedule would look so much better. The acc coastal is a boring division to have to play in every year.

FSUs schedule is always better.. they always play Clemson, always play Louisville, always play Florida, and always play us. This year they add VT. Yes they're going to have an awful win loss record but that schedule is much better than Pitt, GT, UNC, and Duke every **** year.

Takes two to tango. You think we wouldn’t play Florida or Notre Dame every year if either would agree?

No one cares about SOS anymore. You win out, you're in. Most of the time now you have 1 loss and you're in. The committee says so, Alabama played a hilariously terrible schedule and walked into the playoff as the 3rd best team in the SEC.

Gimme the blowouts week in and week out so long as we get in the playoff.

Last year, VTech looked overrated and poorly coached to me.

It's called a freshman quarterback, even if he was a redshirt freshman. Those guys are going to be frustratingly erratic and cause growing pains, far more often than they'll simply cruise through the season like a veteran.

Virginia Tech recruits well and is always closer to our talent level than we prefer to believe. Tremaine Edmunds will be a first round pick and it wouldn't shock if he moves within the top 10. Tim Settle is also earning first round attention, especially if he loses weight prior to the combine and pro day process. We are fortunate to avoid those two guys in 2018. Other top talents remain.

Virginia Tech won't be easy, particularly because it is in Blacksburg. Out of the past 27 years we've been in the same conference as Virginia Tech, I seem to remember us playing well there only once. Let's face it, we were also not a great road team in 2017. Need to get better in that area, or that is going to be a very high hurdle.

Home schedule is weak. Anything less than undefeated at home would be a disappointment.

I mean I get you point, but its not like we're out here scheduling nothing but bums.

2018 - LSU, @Toledo
2019 - UF, Central Michigan
2020 - @Michigan ST, Temple
2021 - Alabama (neutral), Michigan St, Appalachian St
2022 - @Texas A&M
2023 - Texas A&M, @Temple
2024 - @Notre Dame
2025 - Notre Dame

As you can see we always have one really good team on our schedule, and one solid lower level team, and the other 2 games are usually just filler wins. This is a harder schedule than most P5 schools are willing to play.

2021 looks pretty crazy btw with us playing Bama, Michigan ST, and App St. Thats has a good chance of being the hardest schedule in the country. Whats crazy is that we just barely missed on playing Clemson as well (instead we play NCSt)...We travel to Clemson in 2022.

The Big 10 and the Pac 12 disagree.

Wisconsin has no one in their non conference schedule which f them up. The PAC champ got blown out and had two losses. Plus no one knows how good teams are or when the cycle changes. At one point the Coastal was winning all the ACC titles and Clemson was terrible. I could easily seeing it swinging back the next 2 years.

I can't believe no one has predicted 9-3 yet? Cause that's probably what it is going to be. Is there an infusion of offensive line talent coming in? We still have Malik, or a red shirt freshman QB? There were glimpses of brilliance last year yes, but a lot of garbage too. 10-1 easily could have been 8-3. Now it wasn't and that is wonderful. a win is a win. However a bounce here and there and it's not 10-1. Hope Im wrong and it's 12-0, I wouldn't bet on it, but I'll cheer for it.

It was still a near run thing. They had a terrible QB (actually, a non QB) and yes, they were inferior talent wise to us. Even with one of our two top notch defensive efforts (other being vs ND), it was a lot closer than the score.

We ****ed away a first and goal at the ...(2?) early, and scored our first TD on a fluke third (or 4th?) and long. In control up 14-3, we finished the 1st half and started the 2nd with FOUR straight turnovers, and only huge D plays prevented VT from taking a lead. Fuente and their OC were exposed in the 4th, a bit, as they went 3 and out over and over. We could have easily lost that one.

Besides BCC and GT, probably our only opponent who had a worse QB than us.

Got to think they will be better in '18, but not by much. Its on Richt to pass them by. We are better and even with an upgrade (Fuente), they no longer have the Radio/Folden/Fester force multiplier.

I expect us to be a better team talent wise next year but if we are still running out an erratic, inconsistent, and inaccurate QB, every week may be a dog fight. We got lucky this year in a few games that shouldn’t have even been close. I can see us being anywhere from 9-3 to 12-0.

Nah, it will be a very long time before anyone as awful as Rosier starts at UM again.

Thursday games are the best when we win cuz i get to relax stress free for the weekend and watch our rivals get ****ed. When we lose though the whole weekend was pointless
