2018 DE Andrew Chatfield's junior highlights

the 40 times from that 2016 nike miami combine were all very slow...even for the elite speed guys.

id bet he could put up a 4.8

This is talking strictly the 40 times at the Nike 3/6/2016--

It was a mixed bag but for the most part there were quite a few fast time. When compared to OL and DL men he was not so great and even less so against the better LBs. He was not all that far ahead of some 270 lb. linemen and sometimes worse and the only ones he was only marginally better than 345 pounders like Donaldson and when their huge weight as factored in they were position specifically better. .

Here are the times from the top performers at the Nike Combine 3-6-2016--height, weight then 40.

Henderson, Christopher17 DB Columbus FL 6-1 175 4.35
Townsend, DeMarcus 18 RB Gulf Coast FL 5-11 192 4.40

Benjamin, Kenny 17 RB Dunbar (FL) FL 5-6.5 153 4.46
Gallimore, Lio'undre 17 WR Miami Norland FL 5-8 159 4.47
Waters, Marquis 17 DB Atlantic FL 6-0 192 4.48
Smart, Chauncy 17 WR Auburndale FL 5-8 166 4.48
Davis, Camron 18 RB Carol City FL 5-9.5 187 4.50
Golden, George 17 WR Dillard FL 5-7 152 4.51

-----------------
Garvin, Jonathan 17 DL Lake Worth FL 6-4 225 4.87

-----------------
Kaminski, Connor 17 LB Melbourne FL 6-1 208 4.66

***ot, Diego 17 LB Calvary Christian (Fort Lauderdale) FL 6-3 231 4.87

Cowan, VanDarius 17 LB Palm Beach Gardens FL 6-4 217 4.77

Lichtenstein, Jacob 17 DL Cypress Bay FL 6-5 239 4.98

Chambers, Deondre 17 OL Miramar FL 6-3 270 5.18

Scaife Jr., Delone 18 OL Killian FL 6-3 283 5.26

Paulino, Lashawn 17 DL Coconut Creek FL 6-3 240 4.90

Colson, Rashad 17 OL Carol City FL 6-5.5 277 5.25

Williams, Rashawd 17 DL Boyd Anderson FL 5-11 274 5.15

Henderson ran a laser timed 4.35???? Wow. I knew he was fast but not that fast. I really want that kid, I know we are probably out of the picture but that's some old school Miami speed right there.

As for Chatfield, the kid looks like a football player. But I agree with most posters in this thread, at his current H/W he looks more like a tweener and his 40 time is concerning considering that. I am supportive of how the staff is playing this. Recruit him but don't offer until some of the speed concerns have been assuaged.

He is legit in his speed. Goes out to Oregon Nike in July 5-10 of 2016 and does a top job there. 3.92 short shuttle.. Like him or not he is real in speed
He had the 4th fastest 40 and 6 best shuttle out of the top elites from all over the country.
.
Henderson, Christopher 17.. DB.. Columbus ..Alpha Pro.. 6-1(H).. 179(W).. 4.37(40-laser).. 3.92(short shuttle).. 34(power ball).. 35.1(vertical).. 119.79(SPARQ Score)

Appreciate all the information you bring CarolCityHigh. Those are some of the most impressive numbers across the board I've seen...

I like the stats like Nike and track and field times they bring it lets people make up their own mind. Seldom do they trash an individual without some sort of stats. Also with Liberty City with his latest updates and tweets.

he has a long wingspan.

I told you to have him work stand up drills as a LB.. RattlerCane305

He's a kid that is in the Trent Harris mold...just need to get him to worlk flexibility...the weight will come..Im betting he is 6'2 closer to 6'3 and 225 right now.

I think he should have an offer by Spring. If im you Unc...i try to take him down to UM as much as i can unofficially...you can pretty much contact the support staff coaches and set stuff pup with them....put him in the coaches faces constantly

Trust me Gogeta, that's been the plan for quite a while now. I had already suggested that to him before to you brought it up in the other thread, and reminded him again afterwards. He's been putting in the work needed for him to wow people with his play in space on the camp circuit. I'd agree with those measurables too. He's gonna be at least a barefoot 6'3" when he signs his LOI. I'm already gonna be spending more time with Drew in the next few months working on these test scores so I'll be available to run em on down to Gables. I'll talk to Drew and Ty's folks ASAP about me taking them down there. I'm certain they'll agree but I never want to overstep my boundaries. But trust me Prop Joe I'm pulling all of the tricks outta my bag for these two, I'm talking giving their numbers to Willis and Dre so they can hit em up with some kind words about The U, getting all of the U football alumnus that I know(shiiiddd I went to Springs Middle with 3 of em)to follow them on Twitter, **** like that. ****, the support staff might wanna hire me after they see how bad I want those two in Orange & Green...

yea you got to holla at Jorge Baez and the rest of the support staff. Its great to let them see the colleges and would be smart. To me thats more important than bull 7 on 7. And what your doing is great. Let them feel apart of the u team/alumni

Maaaaaaaaaan I'm 5'9", 5'10" on a good day 200 lbs. I'm gonna drive down to the Hecht and Me and Coach Kool are gonna fight if my nephew doesn't get his offer soon. Lil Drew is the best edge rusher in America and he's DYING for the love he should be getting from the U. Even though he plays for AH he's a CC kid(Jesus Christ imagine him at his home school!!!) who's raised by real Ol' School Dade County brothers. Nunna that west of I-75 happy-go-lucky dance routine ****. Straight Hit Stick Bust **** Maniac ****!!! The last time I talked to him face to face, he confirmed with that he LOVES The U but he feels like the staff is sleeping on him. If I had 24.5 sacks & no offer, I'd feel like they were sleeping on me too. I know for a fact that if we turn up the heat on him and continue trending up on-field, he's ours to lose. Another key is Drew & my blood family Tyson were always cool and their bond grew closer when hey found out how close their families are. Offer Drew and put the FULL COURT PRESS on him and Tyand 2018's best front-back end duo could be Canes on signing day...

Yall related to Candy Chatfield, James Chatfield her dad

I'm not biologically related to Drew, me and his mom's little brother have been close like brothers for over 20 years, henceforth he's my "nephew", but Tyson is my blood cousin. I'll ask Big Drew if they're related to them though

I agree with you. The research they do in areas that are not often touched here are great. I heard CCH was a former college scout or quality control type guy.

Hopefully we'll offer this beast at, or before, Junior Day.

I'm pretty sure we don't take more than 2 maybe only 1 DE this cycle, so coach Kool is just making sure before offering someone who might commit on the spot.

I love this kid's film and production.

His size and speed may be the only things holding him back.

Would love to see him get the offer

I think we need 3. Lose Chad and Toolbox this year, D. Jax and probably Joe Jackson in '18. It's hard to count on Patchan until he get's his knee right, but I'll count him. That leaves us with Patchan, DJ Johnson and Garvin in 2019, both would be juniors. We might slide Wilder down to DE, but he's a LBer for now. Need guys for the future, too.

lol we have far greater needs than DE. And you forgot Bethel. 2 is the max, 1 is also possible.

This class is all about DBs, RBs, DTs, WRs, TEs and always a few OL.

DE and LB IMO are positions we will hit hard the following class.

1-2 quality DEs is all we need for 2018

Whats the holdup on his offer?!?

I noticed he and a few other heritage kids just visited UF as well and they still haven't offered either

I dont care much about the swamp lizards, but this dude had a 24.5 sack year.. Don't understand why aren't on him like flies on sh*t right now. I understand he will probably get his offer, but I hope its sooner rather then later.

Those sacks numbers are extremely boosted. Kid's a stud either way but he didn't have 24.5 sacks.

I hung with his coach for a while yesterday. He told me that Rumph communicates with Chatfield all the time but they haven't pulled the trigger yet. (obviously)

I gathered that he's on Miami's radar but he's just not a "take" yet.

IMO he's a Linebacker and situational pass rusher. I'm not so sure he's a full-time DE with his lack of size.
His coach said he's an awesome kid. Natural leader.

I agree Coach, although bammer runs a different scheme, he can play a Tim Williams-like role for us as a pass rush specialist. But unlike Williams, Chatfield does have the ability to play a traditional LB role, 40 time be damned. Will he be ready to go as an LB in non-pass rush situations from Day 1? I don't think so but he definitely has the aptitude to put it all together. But very, very, very few high schoolers have the innate ability to get to the QB that this kid does, and that will be the reason why Drew will make a big splash very early on at the next level...
