2017 Walter Football Mock draft (Updated 12/29/16)

I think that 3rd round grade is Kaayas floor. Too much awful QB play out there. His stock will rise as we inch toward the draft.

Worst QB class in the last 15 years, IMO.

I believe the Dolphins played their way out of being able to draft Zach Cunningham. Ideally would want them to draft Adoree Jackson or Njoku.

In what sense? Pre professional evaluation? Because Dax has been great but this year's rookie qb class was weak with a top three of Goff, Wentz and Lynch.

Also there's no convincing me that "teams aren't as high on Jabril Peppers as casual fans." A decent defensive coordinator would know how to use him. Falling to 18th is silly.

Pre-draft, yes. I thought Lynch had the potential to be a franchise QB going into the draft; wasn't as high on Goff. Kizer and Trubisky don't have very high ceilings - I at least don't see it.

Once they truly analyze Kaaya's movement in the pocket and outside the pocket, his stock will likely go down. He's living a little off being UM's career passing leader. I don't know how deeply people have paid attention to just how bad he is in the pocket.

The 2013, EJ Manuel, Geno Smith & Mike Glennon class would like to have a word with you...

Trubisky I think could be good. Solid arm strength very tough in the pocket, moves fairly well. Kizer will not be a good pro, neither will Brad IMO. Brad is best in the shotgun and if you live there intheNFL it's because your team is losing. I don't see the arm strength, leadership, or athletic ability to lead an NFL roster. Worst case for him would've Jags or Cleveland. At the least he needs to go to a good team and learn the game from a pro.

I will say, between Kaaya, Trubisky, Kizer and Watson, this is the first time I can recall the top four QB prospects all coming essentially from one conference

Scouts have been to a ton of games. And you dont think people is watching one of the supposedly top qbs in the draft? The draft is more about what you project a guy to be not as much about what he is now.

There will likely be a team that puts on the tape when kaaya is good and believe they can coach up the other stuff and get his full potential out.

I wouldnt take any in the 1st round.

All those mocks like Walter are usually pretty inaccurate this early in the process until leaks from scouts and GM offices starts getting out during the process. For now, it's personal opinion of the guy making the mock (who's usually NOT in the business) or a composite of all the other mock information out there from ESPN, CBS, NFL.com, etc.

Just last year Paxton Lynch was the #1 overall pick about this time......and we saw him fall to the 20's. So much can happen between now and draft day.

He is poor rolling to his right and horrendous rolling to his left and he probably knows this himself more than anyone.

He can stay and hope to improve in these areas or hope a team that sees the potential for improvement drafts him.
