At this point I believe it is required that I state, "sorry if already posted", but the only place that I have read that Coach Richt was the recipient of the 2017 Walter Camp Coach of the Year was the Miami Herald. One would think that this prestigious award would be celebrated by Canes fans as the voters are 130 college football coaches and sports information directors who have recognized the extraordinary job Coach Richt has done.

Now, maybe the reporting in the Miami Herald was "fake news", but if not, then besides a few other mentions I find this lack of acknowledgement impossible to understand.

If nothing more, one would think that there would be excitement by Canes fans as it relates to recruiting knowing that recruits will be thinking they have the opportunity to play for the Coach of the year, just another of the many reasons to join the Richt football movement.

Bad Canes news is repetitively screamed from the highest mountaintops on this blog, but this award seems to be a better kept secret than Jimmy Hoffa's location.

If this news has been flogged by Canes fans then I apologize for the rant.

Well deserved for what has been accomplished past two years. Team was/is extremely thin at certain positions, but last years class and the 18 class should get roster close to full. Special teams been poor due to lack of physical bodies to putout there and limited at several positions with no depth. Coaches great job so far, but bar gets higher as roster gets closer to the teams in playoff.

Your observations are fair, but again, there's always a thread of negativity. Anytime the word "but" is used when issuing a compliment it erases everything said prior. When you commented; "Coaches great job so far, but bar gets higher as roster gets closer to the teams in playoff", it ends up being a negative concerning the accomplishments of Coach Richt. In other words, yeah, he did okay, but he's probably going to fall on his **** as things become tougher. I would be refreshing if there was just ONE thread where positive comment were made about the program without the infamous...BUT!

At any rate...your positive words were great to read! Go Canes!

You might be right, Earnest. I think the coach of the year thread posted was for ACC Coach of the Year.

Really? Seriously? You think our head coach was named coach of the year days ago and there wasn’t a thread? Cmon. Common sense. If u aren’t gonna come here every day several times a day, I don’t know what to tell you.

Thank you RVACane.

After almost 15 years of seemingly never ending Canes doom, gloom, and no hope football I am more than prepared to celebrate anything and everything that can be considered an accomplishment.

The Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award that was bestowed upon Coach Richt, I would think, would be through the roof sweet for us Canes fans when considering the coaching tragedies we've suffered through.

Now, let's go and beat the living **** out of Wisconsin!
