2017, the most talented WR group ever at Miami???

Braxton Berrios isn't very good, Cager had a torn ACL and is still a question mark, the other guys have massive potential but are also unproven. Also would love to see someone justify Berrios' production. I'm sure he's better suited for the slot but that doesn't explain 12 catches in a entire year.

??? How did u come to that conclusion?? when Brad was able to actually throw to Berrios accurately, he made the play, and has a very obvious elite skillset as a slot wr.

Because he had 12 catches for less than 200 yards in an entire season.

that 26 yard Touchdown against WVU was all anyone should have needed to see to see that Berrios is a very good wr when targeted correctly... Brad Kaaya was terrible throwing him the ball the entire season imo majority of Berrios lack of production were on the qb.

No.

1984 Brian Blades
Eddie Brown
Michael Irvin
Brett Perryman

Most talented wr roster NCAA history. All 4 had at least 1 1000 yard receiving season in NFL plus atleast one pro bowl.

Next 2000 Miami Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne Andre Johnson.

Irvin played from 1985

My mistake I meant 1985 and I thought Perryman made the pro bowl in 1995. Looks like I was wrong

1985 group still the best followed by 2000

Brown was gone in 85. He was a Juco player here from 83-84.

The 1987 group is essentially the 85 group + Dale Dawkins & Randall Hill & Alex Johnson

Good work on this post. I just think that this list has to start with Eddie Brown.

The problem is Eddie Brown left right before the Bomb Squad got there... can't really list this as the best WR corp at the U.

Eddie Brown* WR 30 Rec, 640 Yds, 21.3 Avg
Stanley Shakespeare* WR 34 Rec, 452 Yds, 13.3 Avg
John Smatana WR 11 Rec, 140 Yds, 12.7 Avg
David Kintigh WR 2 Rec, 55 Yds, 27.5 Avg
Kenny Oliver WR 1 Rec, 18 Yds, 18.0 Avg
Lawrence Thompson WR 1 Rec, 12 Yds, 12.0 Avg

I think it's a bit of stretch to say the best ever but it's definitely a great group best in ACC and will hopefully prove to be among the best in the country. QB play will be a big factor in how group this remembered

1987 Group followed by 2000

The 2000 group may have surpassed the 1987 group now that I think about it

2000 Group was really Andre, Wayne, and Moss - 3 1st round picks and all probowlers, 5 draft picks

1987 Group was headlined by Irvin & Blades but had more depth - 2 1st and 2 2nd rd picks with 2 pro bowlers. 7 draft picks

This is very premature... 2008 class should have taught us that stars and potential don't mean much until it is realized.

Let's take a look:

  • Ahmmon Richards, 4 Star (Should have been 5)
  • Lawrence Cager, 4 Star
  • Braxton Berrios, 4 Star (per 247)
  • Deejay Dallas, 4 Star
  • Dionte Mullins, 4 Star
  • Jeff Thomas, 4 Star
  • Mike Harley, 4 Star
  • Evidence Njoku, 4 Star (per 247)

To me that has the look of perhaps the best WR group (on paper) that I've probably ever seen at Miami. This group could be scary good.

I can't think of a year that collectively had this much WR talent at Miami.

Thoughts?

Logoff.

2000 for sure
Andre
Reggie
Santana
That's 3 1st rounders
And other guys as well

The 2018 group will be the most talented group we have had in a while

Not only were they first rounders 2 of them are Hofers and Santana was electric and had a good NFL career too.

HOF: Irving
Should get there: Wayne, Dre
Ballers: E. Brown, S. Moss, Blades, R. Hill, L. Thomas, Dawkins, Carroll, K. Williams, Hurns, Copeland, Benjamin,
Ah, fug it: Leggett, R. Moore, A. Jolla

Op need to stay off that powder.

U trying to compare teams with Hofers in 2000 case multiple (Wayne and Dre). To a team with 1 proven talent and the Hudl All Stars lmao. Way too early to even Think bout saying that.

It will be interesting to see this current crew along with whomever we bring in next year. If it is Pope plus another baller there is potential to set the UM record for most drafted wide receivers on a single roster. Not ready to crown them yet but it is nice to be excited about our depth and future again.

Each one of those guys has the opportunity and athletic ability to be great. For over a decade we haven't had that top end capability.

2009 teams WR's were WAY BETTER.

To leave out Kellen Winslow would be a major error. All Canes named were great, fabulous players
but Winslow in some games was unstoppable. Many times he was covered by two db's and still made the
catch.Obnoxious, yes, but the very best on the field.

You can include Shockey as part of the 2000 group. I think I'll go with the 2000 group. The most productive group Miami has ever produced when you include college and NFL production.
