2016 Miami Hurricanes head coach, DJ Durkin.

Who is building Michigan's then? Harbaugh? Butch also had an unreal cache of nfl talent thanks to jj when he was dc there. Plus he still had ZERO hc experience.,totally different skillset than being a hc.

Durkin also has more experience in big time football with far more years in power conferences etc than a Herman or Morris. It's just everyone is so **** bent on finding a coach that specializes in a given trend (wide open offenses) that they lose site of another candidate because he's on another side of the ball. Durkin was excellent as a position coach, as a power conference dc, and is very familiar with the state of Florida.

And I laugh at personality. Saban is like listening to tree bark he's so boring but he can coach. Same with dantonio.

Don't think he's a HC type. Not a big personality and not a great recruiter. Good DC though
He is actually a very good recruiter... But hiring a guy with no head coaching experience is a massive fail. He could turn out to be the next Bob Stoops.. Or the next Ron Zook or will muschamp (more likely as most coaches are mediocre). You have nothing to base his resume on as a head coach. Total risk.

This is the risk with ANY hc. You were probably jumping for joy when we hired mister four years of experience from temple. It's useful but overrated.

oh did I mention he is now working for Harbaugh a second time? That speaks volumes to me. A great coach thought enough of him to hire him to run his defense after he was a position coach at Stanford with him . Plus he also has learned under a coach like Quinn
